Default Recommendations anyone?

So, my 1999 GT is having some transmission problems and I have come up with money to repair it a buy a few other things. I am set on buying things for the drivetrain, but not gears. They will be installed later. In the future I plan on having all the bolt-on parts for the car, and maybe a 2.1 kenne bell. My question is what parts do you guys recommend for each:
Shifter- Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter or Pro 5.0 Shifter(other shifters welcome)
Clutch-SPEC Stage 2 Clutch or Fidanza 2.1 Mustang Clutch(others clutches welcome)
Flywheel-SPEC or Fidanza Steel Flywheel(other flywheels welcome)
Just for giggles, what is the best brand of gears to put in my rearend(will go with 3.73's or 4.10's, leaning more with the 4.10's)
All of my selections came from AM I will look at products from other suppliers as long as they a reasonable. I also want you to know that I am willing to spend money for quality parts.

Thanks in Advance,
Shawn

MGW shifter
SPEC clutches are fine
SPEC flywheel is fine
And as for gears, most brands are fine. Personally i went with FRPP 4.10's just waitin til i got the money to get em put it.

Sounds like you've got some good plans for your car, good luck

either shifter (MGW is the nicest one, you should look at those)
either clutch
you don't need a new flywheel but if you want one, stick with steel. Don't matter after that.
4.10's make most auto drivers happy, 3.73 is common for manual cars but 4.10's do just as well there.

Those aren't the parts you should worry about much right now... brakes, suspension, chassis stiffening are all more important until you have the blower on. Cobra brakes, Maximum Motorsports grip boxes (pick the one that's right for your use case) and most any weld-on subframe connector set are where I'd put the dough till you get the blower in your hands. Then upgrade the clutch and flywheel.

The shifter is a good mod no matter what. Stock shifter sucks the ****.

Oh Oh Oh!!!! R3d kinda agreed with me on sumthin!!!! Yay!!! LOL Nah for real, he's right though, the brands of parts you mentioned are fine, but set the stage for power first. All the power in the world don't mean **** if you can't put it to the pavement, make it stick, and bring it all to a stop.

Thank you for your swift responses everyone. I have heard good things about MGW shifters and will more than likely stick with that, but was wondering when I can order one from. As for the clutch and flywheel I will go with SPEC. After these mods and the gear swap I will definately upgrade the suspension. I have heard of someone having to replace the rear end in their car using FRPP gears. Apparently some gears don't come off the line ready to install, some have a taper on them and need to be checked before installation. On the website there is a pdf file describing this. I have heard some good things about Moser gears, how about you guys.

For the shifter.

I have the pro 5.0 and am totally in love with it. I cannot comment on the other brands but I love my 5.0.

I prefer FRPP gears because they're made by the people that made the gears the car came with but truth be told it's all about your installer doing it right and less about the gear vendor. I've never seen a case of properly installed gears having noise problems myself. Any company that can stay alive for a few years making gears can't really make crap consistently. Gears are too sensitive to poor manufacture and even more sensitive to poor installation setup.

I have a Steeda tri-ax with the pro-5.0 short shifter handle and **** for 70 + shipping if you're interested. It's near new, been in my garage for over a year. As for ordering a MGW.. http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang_1990-2004.shtml would be a good place to start.

my motive gears went bad. I dont know if it was due to poor install or poor manufacture. I will just say I got what I paid for. Things didnt help when I re-torqued down my pinion nut after I installed a new seal...I pulled the pinion further from the ring. Resulting in a clunky rear and more whining.

I vote for FRPP...I have them in my car now...no clunks or whines.

I'm also a auto guy I cant really comment on any of the stuff you mentioned above.
