Thats for older cars not your 99-04 car. Use the directions I posted and you will be good to go. And you need a 2 prong switch only a 3 prong is not needed.

i know but i have a 3 prong switch, so i wanna use it cuz its cool lookin and it lights up. so to use the switch i just need a lead from the accessory to the fan wire and a ground? i dont need to use the third running from another power source?

You would just not use the constant 12v prong.

Same problem I had is that there are two wires that are very similar. If you hooked it up and it does not work, then you are tapped into the wrong wire.

You go by what color the wire is.

I think i just got lucky , i took the kick panel off then there was a metal brace holding 3 conectors i took that off also. There is a large group of wires taped together i cut the tape off then just looked for a green wire with a violet tracer. I never unplugged anything. Then i used a wire tap the hook into the wire. I grounded it to the the metal brace bolt. i used 18 gauge wire and a two prong switch. good luck i hope it helps.

got it wired, it works, but i have a 3 prong switch. only thing that dont work is the light, so i think i need a constant power source cuz everything i tried fails to work the light and the fan at the same time. so any hints on what to run a lead to for constant power?

Any wire that has power when the key is in the switched position also known as a switched 12v source. Like the radio, etc...

In order to make a lighted 3 wire switch work you need to take 12volts to the negative on the switch and the ground to what would normally be positive on the switch and the the switched output will then be negative to activate the fan

i got it all hooked up but i have an issue with the wires overheating as well as the fuses blowing as soon as i hook them up, is there any way to reduce the current flowing through it? i have a 16 gauge wire running from battery positive to the switch power, acc from switch to the 12 gauge fan wire, and the 16 gauge wire from ground on switch to a bolt close by. only wires overheating is the power and acc. i think it may be that i have to switch them all out for 12 gauge wires. this ***** costin me a fortune, lol

if its running all the way to the battery you need bigger wire, but if you're picking up power under the dash somewhere the 16ga should be fine.
