Default 94 gt cooling fan

Hi guys.

My radiator fan is refusing to start after the engine warms up. The fan it self is fine. I am buying a troubleshooting book tomorrow but I am just wondering if you know how the system operates. Does the sensor that shows the temperature in the dash do anything else that just that? In other words, how does the fan know when to start?

theres 2 speeds.. low speed comes on when it hits 220 and the high speed comes on when its hot w/ ac on. try checking ur fuses and ur connections to the fan.

Yeah look at those. Also did you fan come on with the A/C on, usually when you turn the A/C on it comes on a mila second later. Also i know the 94's had the same problem as my 95 GT did. They had a recall on the fans, they had to add another inline fuse cause some were catching on fire. There's also kits for you to wire it to a switch so you can turn it on when you want to. That way your also bypassing the computer. The gauge just tells you how hot your motor/coolant is.
