fit and finish on the newer ones is great, and i like the shifter position musch better. not to mention being able to make a fair amout over 300rwhp with basic bolt ons i made 307/330 with a steeda cai/bbr offroad x/scott beer custom tune/pypes mid muffler

However, the fact that the shifter forces you to hit the dash when going into 1, 3, and 5 and is also a remote shifter like those in ricers is a disadvantage.

I'd keep the Cobra. More power potential, while also being a lighter car. Add the MM suspension and you will out handle a S197.

you wanna upgrade then look at gettin a 99-04 cobra, i owned a 96 v6. tell ya what im glad i got a cobra, going from gt to cobra is a downgrade no matter how you look at it. if you like being able to say you have a cobra then stick with a cobra, everyone and their mother has a gt and you may prolly regret it.

Why not just build your cobra?

Some here may call me crazy, but the fact that your current car is a Cobra is not a reason to keep it IMO. I know that there may be more power potential, but I think the S197's look a lot better. And with a few bolt ons (like darkstar has) they can be torque monsters too. Just my .02

Sounds like a plan. Hopefully I'll be joining the S197 club too

I would keep the cobra and spray it. The SN95s look better.
