Default is this a problem?

something i noticed is that my right tail pipe lets loose much more exhaust fumes then the left one. the right one looks like its actively pushing out the fumes while the left is just letting them float through. is somethign wrong or is that normal? one of my friends said something about how it mite rot out my exhaust or something.

With X-pipes, it isn't uncommon to see one side appear to have a slight bit more exhaust coming out. Remember, with x-pipes and h-pipes the goal is to give the exhaust the path of least resistence when flowing out. I would suspect the extra output is from a series of certain cylinders which fire at the same time on opposite sides and when the exhaust flow is spent the exhaust flows to the one side as it has less turbulence in the pipe at that side of the pipe. I am just guessing at this. I would suspect the rotting your friend is talking about is based off the moisture content in the pipe and actually rusting. I am not so sure you will have to worry about this. I have the same cat back on my car and it is on it's 11th year. Ask r3dn3ck and some of the senior moderators about this, but I bet your ok. If you aren't throwing codes and don't detect any problems, I wouldn't worry.

as long as you're not running cats it's a guaranteed non-issue. If you do have the cats in then you may want to check that one of them isn't damaged (in this case you'll notice a significant change in the sound of the car efore there's any real problem with the cat).

H and X pipes really mess up the flow patterns. It's pretty random which side gets favored but one always will. Air is funny that way.
