LT header install 4.6 2v
I googled the c-rap out of this subject and was surprised not to fing a good installation write up on this topic. I basically want to know if it is worth paying a shop to install them. Or should I do it myself (I have access to a lift and all the tools in the world lol (most of them) Oh, and I dont want to weld anything. Anybody got anything?

me and my dad installed my LTs, X-pipe, and catback in our small one car garage using jack stands. It took us a couple days (we're slow and take lots of breaks). The main thing I could recommend is dropping the k-member if you do it yourself. Lots of people have said they were able to do it with a lift and not dropping the k-member, so I don't know about that.. because I didn't have access to a lift. To be honest, it all depends on if it bothers you to spend money on installation. It's not an extremely hard task, its just time consuming and you may get frustrated lol

Do it yourself. You'll gain knowledge and save alot of money. One shop here that has it listed on their website is charging $500 for install. That's too damn much. Like csledd said, it's just time consuming and you'll get frustrated, but sh*t, that's life.

Csledd, said it best, the install is not hard just a PITA. I did mine over two days, I didn't drop the K-memeber, just lifted the motor on the pass side with the starter out. With the K-frame out you will have a TON more room to work. Make sure you match the X-pipe with the headers, make sure they fit together. Take your time and be ready to :censored: a lot.

Hell, That's all I need. A few jackstands and a whole thing of coffee LOL. The front and ends were simple, the two upper in the middle sucked!!! plus the airtubes. Goodluck when you do it. BTW get a few dif 13mm wrenches, short ones and a "s" shaped 13mm will save your life on the pass side. That's how I got the hard ones done.

I could have finished in a day...a LONG day. If you have the motivation to get it done, you will. I checked with the shop I use for dynos and they charge $350 for the install, best price in Jax, would have cost me $250 ( I do a lot for them). I almost let them have -at-it. But I really enjoy doing the work myself.
Csledd::: if you have a cutting torch you could have just hacked through the inner fender and been done in like..an hour, hour and a half at most...

Factroy are studs, I had to remove the studs and install the new ones SLP sent. Some bolts and some studs. I used PB blaster the night before removing them and let them soak overnight...All came out easy.
