Default R Mods Worth it?

Man, I often ask myself this question...until Sunday.

I drove a completely stock 1999 GT vert with 28k on it. A friend is looking at buying the car. It is identical to mine...just BONE STOCK. I can't believe how much slower the car was. No, there was nothing wrong with it...just felt like about 40 - 50 hp less.

Now, I feel good.

I did the same thing last weekend, my friends looking for a stang and we test drove a bone stock 04 gt, when we were done we got back in mine, and I couldn't believe the difference! Just with the few mods I have, I felt a day and night difference. I can't wait to get my gears and a tune(only 2 weeks to go!!!!!)

I think the biggest difference is how crappy the stock shifter feels.

oh yeah, the stock shifter feels worst than the one in my truck, like a fork in a bowl of noodles. :laughing7

One thing I miss about my car when it was stock is the ride. I got a 2" Eibach drop on my 99 GT and it rides rough, when My sis bought a 2001 GT it made me relize how harsh it really is.

I got new car fever last year and went on several different occaisions to the dealer for test drives. Of course I was looking to upgrade to a Mach 1 or Cobra. Every time I test drove a new one I would get back in my car and go two blocks and think to myself I wouldn't trade em my 99 at any deal. My car is by no means as fast as a Mach or Cobra but it handles or at least it feels to me sooooooo much better than either one.

I dropped my Gt 2in also, it looked bad ***. The problem was the comfort so I put in the 1 1/2.

My wife and I own a business together, we both park in the front lot so everyone that comes in see's our cars. I have my 02 GT and she has a 03 Crossfire. Everyone comes in and asks me if the Crossfire is real fast and I just laugh. My car runs a sub 4.5 second 0-60 and a 12.80 quarter mile, her car runs 15 something ( that's over 35 car lengths in the 1/4) No one belives me until I take them back into the shop and they see racing tires laying around and the posters of me doing burnouts and launching at the track. When I drive her car all I think is it really needs a blower bad. Once you've done some mod's you can't stand to drive slow cars. I can flat make people crap their pants when I get on the highway. I like to not warn them then give it a nice 3/4 throttle blast up to 90 on the on ramp. They are pressed back into the seat and get the white knuckles gripping the arm rest. I'm so immature but I love it.
