Anyone hear of SHM before?
Hey all. Just a quick question here...SHM, what exactly is the signifigance of that. I found an '02 GT convertible at a local(Lakeville, MN) Ford dealer... www.lakevillefordmercury.com I'm very, very tempted to go and trade my '02 V6 in...though I haven't enough money to do that. :sad7: Considering I know just the basics of driving a stick, I'd be more than intimidated by the car. I dont know...just me blabbing at this point.

SHM is Sean Hyland Motorsports. A very respected name in the Modular community.
SHM was on of the first to reconize to potential of the 4.6. He did at one point sell tuner cars, but he also sells a wide variety of aftermarket parts that maybe on this car.

My guess is the S.H.M. stands for Sean Hyland Motorsports. Look up Sean Hyland Motorsports on Google and you can find a lot of info on them, perhaps you can call them and see if they built this car and they can give you more specifics. P.S. I also live within a 40minute drive to Lakeville.

If you buy this car and plan on trying it at the drag strip it will need to have a roll bar installed. ANY convertable that runs faster than 13.99 is required to have one. This is a problem that I face. I have a 01 gt convert with auto and 3.73 gears and not much else and run 14.4.

I myself, after seeing the crap that he puts out, would never give him a cent of my money. His tuner cars may be great, but the engines he builds dont have the biggest track record.(read: tune was so rich that it wouldnt let the piston rings seat properly, then wouldnt honor his warranty) If anyone visits the other stang sites, you may have read about some of his "problems". After the stuff I have seen, id never give him my business. But thats again, just my opinion. Good luck getting the car man. Hope if works out great for you.

Did he do the tuning on this engine though ??? If he built the motor but then some else tuned the motor too rich on break in , its not really his fault and I could understand him not honoring the warrenty. If he did the tuning and built the motor, he should stand behind his work.
