Lightbulb Help me with my plan!!!!

Hi as ya'll know i have been try ing to make a plan i'm satisfied with originally i was just going to go supercharged and be done with it but I want to keep my car runnin smoothly for years to come without having to do all sorts of mods to fix broken or worn parts because of an s/c. So i've decided i want to stay n/a or go with VERY mild nitrous but really i want to stay n/a. I want to run low 12's, high 11's, or at worst mid-12's. My plan is........
1. I have a good deal on a ported bullit intake
2. Patriot performance ported headers
3. Full SLP exhaust except headers
4. accufab 75mm t/b
5. C&L plenum
6. Max. Motorsports sport suspension package
7. If i have enough $$$ underdrive pulleys
8. Definatly 3.73 gears
9. If i really must a small nitrous kit

This is just a rough draft plan so feel free to make suggestions, tell me i'm stupid, or make me a new list. If this becomes to crazy i'm just going back to my old plan to just supercharge it but i'd prefer to be n/a.

If you are staying n/a then I say go with 4.10's for your gear choice.

dont go with c&l plenum go with accufab. Dynos have proved that accufab plenum with a 75mm throtle body is better off than any others as of right now. Especially when you supercharge that beast down the road.

For me, gas mileage really isn't something to worry about. If I wanted gas mileage, I would have got a sedan.

Ok, honestly, that plan sounds worse than just supercharging. There is a common misconception that Superchargers will over time wear your engine horribly, but if you take care of it and dont beat on it like a madman at every stoplight, that it will be just fine. Just get a safe tune with it. Honestly, for your money, you are going to spend 2 to 3 times as much for a N/a setup than you will just getting supercharged with a safe tune. Stick with your original plan of the Mongoose kit. Tim can tune your car so it will run like stock and last a lifetime. The prices of the stuff you are looking at are rediculous. Figure, 1200 for the intake, 1000+ for heads and install, exhaust 500 without headers(which would be pointless to not do on an N/A car that will have a hard time making power without them, and about 2k more in the other parts and installation costs. The supercharger kit is about 4k total, and with it you get the tune and all the parts needed. There are people running cars with Tims kit that are running them everyday on 100k mile plus engines, and thats no exaggeration. Also, the quality of the Patriot heads SUCKS! Time and time again, they have shown faulty parts around the valve seats. Just stick with the original plan. You dont have to have 500 hp to have a fun street car, hell, our cars are fun as they are. Just keep in mind what just 100 more hp would feel like in our car with the base supercharger kit. Its, again, your money and your choice, but to say that a fully built N/A car will run better and last longer than a supercharged one, is probably just the opposite. Most N/A cars dont make great power down low on our cars due to the cams you have to run to make good power dont really shine until 3500 rpm plus. Just think about it, and realize that this isnt an all at once thing. You have to be patient and save up towards the goal. Id just get the blower if I were you. Heck, shop around on the classifieds of sites and find a good condition used blower kit to buy for around 2k. Good luck man, but remember, if its tuned right, it will last forever. GO BLOWER!

Ok i will go with a blower if i have the $$$ do you think i should go with the mongoose kit? I fi don't go with the mongoose kit should i get a Vortech or Procharger??? What do i need to do for NOT TO MUCH MONEY to make my stang safe and long lasting for a s/c. What do i need to have the second my s/c is on there and what should i expect to have to buy in the future. Also I like patriot heads MM&FF used them and said they were awesome so what's your deal. If not patriot who should i get for my headers? Also won't my block crack after 400 HP what can i do to strengthen my block short of buying a new block or new car?

Well, Patriot makes HEADS, not headers. And get the Mongoose kit man, no other kit has held up like it has. Buying there base kit and getting Tim to tune it for you should be all that you need. He makes those kits ready to run, nothing else needed man. If you do a search on his website, www.modularmustangs.net, for stuff on patriot heads, you will see the same stuff. Im not saying that MM&FF didnt get a great set of heads, but Patriots track record hasnt been the best from what Ive seen. Call Tim and tell him your deal. He is a genius when it comes to these cars. He'll tell you what is best for you, not for his pocket book. Just trust me on this one. As far as the 400 hp, yes, it is dangerous to run our stock rods around that area for too long without a forged block, but you arent going to need the 400 hp you are talking about. If you went the N/A way, youd only have about 300 rwhp with all that you have listed. And with the blower on a VERY safe tune, you could have about 350 - 375 safely. Just call Tim, or read up on his site. Good luck man, I cant wait to see how your plan comes together, because you are just like me, a teenager with a huge plan. It just takes time man, but it gets done. The best of luck to you, if you have any other questions, dont be scared to ask me, and Ill try my hardest to help, thats all Im here for. Later

Good luck on getting the job. And Good luck on your car, make sure you go the route you will be happy with. Nothing like the feeling of spending a couple grand ( which is easy to do on these cars ) and decide to change your mind.
