I think most dealers give you parts at their cost, so thats a pretty good deal if you ask me.

Well, they can prolly order FRPP stuff, so that would help, and just stuff like maybe a cobra front end, or chin spoilers, just any ford part you may ever need. Like a new shortblock when you blow yours! :P JK

I work at a chevy dealership so I could offer some insight. There is usually a probationary period before you can take part in their discounts which is usually 90 days/3 months. For the most part they arent going to get aftermarket and if they do, its going to be the same cost, if not cheaper to buy online and ship it. However you DO get ford parts very cheap and if they dont have it in stock, another dealership should and they are all acounted togeather to trade parts at cost. Depending on how big your dealership, it can span from a single brand such as ford, to any vehicle affordable to the general public, sometimes more.

Usually you are supposed to but youve really got to watch who you talk to. Every single person in the car sales buisness will rob their own mothers grave for a couple bucks. You need to know your information by heart, up and down, before you even think about buying something that atches your eye. You also need to know where to look at the cost that the dealership owns the vehicle for too. Id say talk to someone who you know you can manipulate because you know the price (but dont say that you do). Once you are there for a good while, youll learn all the tricks.

MOST dealers don't stock FRPP parts. FRPP is considered "aftermarket."

Only some dealers are actually authorized to sell FRPP parts... you can see the list in the back of an FRPP catalog. The deal with that is, they dont make much money off of that stuff because there is a very small markup however, any discount helps and they often dont have to pay for shipping to get the FRPP parts if the order is over a certain amount. They almost never stock it either. Here is the good thing. If you get a GT and you work at a dealership (especially one that is certified to sell SVT cars or the older SVO cars, not all dealerships do), then you can get that stuff cheap. (for 99-04 cars) Want a mach1 grill delete or chin spoiler? Want some Cobra Wheels? Want those cool pedal covers?.... you can get them all cheap. It's interesting to find that many things in the FRPP catalog come on different ford vehicles under a different name and you can get them cheaper than the FRPP price just by getting them as Ford parts.

how it works because I work with ford. Is that right off the bat your are automatically a Ford A discounter. Ford uses the terms A-plan (current workers) Z-Plan (retired worker-or discontinued) These both give you a big discount and are both the same % in discount. Not one is better than the other. You will normally be aloud to have to car purchases a year with you discount. You will save 2-6thousand more on any car than anyone else that would normally come and buy a car for. Basically you are getting it at dealer price plus taxes and shipping. If you become a manager and higher up there are even further deals. All parts you get at cost price with ford. Parts are only good when your parts on your car break. Ford is not out for after-market. The only goog thing is that you get Jack-Roush and Saleen parts at cost since they have a contract with ford. Getting a job with ford has many benefits and you will use some, trust me, its endless, paintjobs tuneups etc. Hope you get the job and join the ford team.

Default Pain Jobs

ok, here we go. Lets say that you want to get your car painted with sonic blue paint. If you go to an outside company like Macco or some other company, it will cost a min of $500.00 for their so called ambasador paint job. But we all know they suck. Why not get it done with ford who get the same cars day in and day out. And guess what, they will do the best job than anyone and they will sand your car down for a cost around $200.00-300.00. And guess what they dont charge you more to get your car sanded.

To speak to the "discount" part of this. I work for the McDonald's Corporation. And one of our lovely benefits is the McDonald's Gold Card Plus... Ever since last year(2004) McDonald's has partnered up with various companies in a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch your's." kind of deal. I get discounts with Ford, AT&T/Cingular...etc. For Ford, it's called The X-Plan. I'm kicking myself in the *** for not doing that when I bought my Mustang, but that's life...and future Mustang #2.

I am a cross rep for Freedom Ford and Beach Ford. I help the commercial sales guys with there marketing for websites. Its my partime gig that helps me with the car bills.

However if I could use my discount for you car I would, but they do want to see that the ownership for the vehicle is in the persons name. But nice try.
