Default Theft Prevention

Hey I was just wondering what everyone uses for theft prevention.
I have low jack but I am considering the Autolock...I know how to pick a club so I don't think I want that...anyone have the removable hubs? I like the idea but I also like the idea of having an airbag.

I have the Lowjack but sometimes at work, I don't see my car for hours and during the night as well...which Autolock do you have, the Silver one or the Red one and where did you buy it?

My car came with an alarm. It is more trouble than it is worth. I don't live in a bad area, so that is my best defense. When I park in a questionable area, I use my SCT 4 position chip to disable the ignition. No idiot thief would ever figure that out.

I want a chip!! For now I've just been considering the auto-lock...I never park in bad places but still would like to use something...my cousin is locked up for stealing cars (serves him right) and showed me a lot of stuff...It showed me how quick and easy someone can take your car. He said the only thing he didn't even bother with was the autoloc.

I have been fortunate with my factory alarm system and strategic parking.

I bought a autolock only because I got for $5.00 at a Kmart that was going out of buisness. The only thing it does do well, is keep you from applying the brake pedal or clutch. Any thief that knows automotive wiring can get around this thing very quickly. Granite he couldnt depress the brake pedal but if you have a handbrake to use as your brakes then its not a problem at all. One thing I think people make the mistake of doing is putting the sticker on their car letting everyone know what kind of alarm they have. Some alarms are defeatable without opening the doors or hood. To me thats just helping the thief if he knows what you have and he really wants your car. I have alarm on my car but havent told anyone what it is and have twin "pain inducers" on the inside, along with the autolock. If my car is somewhere I don't like, I pull a couple fuses out and take with me.

I live in a good area, don't even lock my car at work and most of the time I leave my keys in the ignition,Cd case laying in the back seat, wallet in the console. If I go somewhere I lock it always.I would be pissed if someone stole it but that would give me the excuse to buy a Cobra

I just like the idea that the Autolock can hook onto the clutch...If they can't use that then they won't be able to go anywhere.

Well at the risk of sounding like a newbie. What is an autolock?. I have that silencer thing that came with mine. Horns blows and ignition wont engage with out the little jack you stick in the hole. Like a headphone jack kinda. I have it disabled right now cause I figure it would be hard as hell to hot wire or start my car without the key. Am I being vulnerable? We,ve had some hot rod thefts in my hood lately. Mostly old restored hot rods though. Showroom quality stuff to. I don't think I need to worry bout my stang though. One guy 2 streets over from me had his 67 nova ss stolen. He put up 5 grand reward no questions asked. it was valued at 30 K. should I do more?.

This is the Autolock...

They cover up to 5,000 if it is removed.

My car has electric currents throughtout the body when parked. If u touch it, it will give u a lil zap. Touch it again and the voltage raises..

I also keep a pitbull in the car if they get through that somehow...

Just get a chip. Youll want one anyway, so just do it that way. I like that idea, but are they really still doing a lot of chips with the xcals out?
