what anti theft are you talking about?
the fuel cutoff?
i know on my 04 GT in the trunk on the left side behind the taillight is a red button you have to press to get the damn thing running again if the anti-theft is triggered.
i dont know if it is in the same place is it is a vert

Do you have and unprogrammed key?? If so let the car sit for about 30 min. and then try with a known good key. There is a time-out in the PATS system so if the system sees a unprogrammed key trying to start the car it will not start on any key for at least 20 min. Do you have a remote start? I have seen many anti-theft concerns that are from improperly installed remote starts :angry8:

it's the factory theft system, a guy at ford said i had to get the car towed there and they have a programmer they reset it with. Another said a OBD scanner can reset it, and so far i've tried my predator and it wont even reconized the system b/c the anti-theft is locking it out from reading the computer, so i've unplugged the battery terminals along w/ the computer.

dude, seriously, check in the trunk. on the coupe there is a red button hidden behind the upholstery in the trunk behing the right tail light. i dunno if there is a huge differences between the 02 vert and the 04 coupe, but as far as i know it is the same, check for the button. press it and it will reset the anti theft, you might have to hold it down for a few, i dunno. get yer owners manual or find somone who has one who can check this for you. i lost mine a while ago or i'd dig it out and let you know what to do.
i think it might be in a diff location for the convertable. if you have the owners manual it will tell you.
forget the dealership they just want yer cash. there IS a way to reset this without a tuner and without the stupid dealer. Trust me.

There might be a trick to it or something. press and hold 2 seconds, release, hold 4 seconds, release, etc.
maybe somone with a manual will get in here and save the day
What happened anyways? somone try to break in? or did you use a non-chipped key?
ill go take a look and see if i can dig up my owners manual,. not sure where it is though

Na my battery is good, everything else works fine, my factory remote works fine ya kno everything seems to work fine, jus when u turn the key to "on" the odometer will not read out, and the "Theft" light flashes constantly, I've unplugged the battery to try and reset it, that didnt work, used the Diablo tried everything on that and it wouldnt read the computer system, so a friend and i went to town on pulling fuses and still didnt work, along w/ depressing the red button in the trunk several times and all the car does when u try and start it is cranks and then sputters a bit, and once in a while it will actually start and run like **** for a min or so and cut off but it seems like its only running on maybe 2 cyl.

Today i had a shop come by and put a $10k computer programmer on my car..they were able to get into the PATS program but couldnt get into the main PCM, so they took it to another shop that reprogrammed the PATS system and wernt able to get a response, then came to find out the battery was dead...but the car would crank over, jus not start...

Try turning the key on just to the point of the car wanting to start, but not turning the engine over about 4-5 times. Then turn the key to start engine. Some times this resets the computer to recognize the key that you are using to start the car. Have tried this in a 2003 after the battery was replaced in sisters car. She then had same problem 6-8 starts later. She tried the same process I showed her and car started and anti-theft light turned off. Hope this helps
