My old Toshiba sircum to a waterly death yesterday. I don't do any gaming or anything like that on the internet just general browsing.

Look at a refurb from any of the many makers. NEVER from the home dufus network. Save up 350 bucks and you can scratch out a nice laptop. I got a 17" quad core with 6gb and a 750g drive for 350 not long ago as a refurb from Best Buy.
