I was thinkin i might get a cb radio in my stang. Cobra makes a nice one. Any suggestions? Where in the stang is a good spot to fit the CB control box? :diablo_an

 

Just wondering, but why? Wont you have to have a goofy antenna on top with a tennis ball around it?

 

No nowadays they make em with little 6-inch antennaes so no huge 3ft. ones for us nowadays. Plus it's free to talk, u get reports of police, weather, traffic, and all my friends are buyin em so we can talk all the time for free.

Go with either a Connex, general lee or a galaxy, they will give you the most power. I drive a truck so I know, I personally have a connex 3300hp, has about a 10 mile range..

 

Ive got a nice cobra CB in my F150 4x4, it came in it when i bought it from a buddie thats a trucker. Ive used it 2 times to talk to him, but its easier and clearer to use the cell phone. He told me its a real good model and a standard of what most truckers buy.

Ill post the model number tomorrow, Its not small though. And the antenna makes a differnce. I have a small 3 ft one that has a booster on the bottom K40 and a 6ft Coiled looking one thats big around as your thumb.

The guys in car clubs around here ive noticed have CBs, and i guess a CB is good to have in emergencys. Cell phones dont get a signal all the time and dead battery screws you.

 

You've gotta be kiddin! The signal only goes 10 miles!!! I heard from buddies that had them that they will go like 30 miles! I want the Cobra 20 XTR

 

I thought CB Radios could only legally go either 2 or 5 miles...I forget.

You may want to consider just getting hand-held walkie-talkies to talk with your buds, though you loose the truck chatter (which is really not exciting to listen to those clowns).

There are also hand-held CB's that prevent the problem with mouting antennas, but some of the antennas are really small now anyway.

Your in texas, yes there you can get out pretty far, Once you get in a populated are there is no way unless you have some serious power from a linear.

Legally you are supposed to have a max of 4 watts mine is tuned to put out 75..

buy bying and installing a mod kit, and getting it tuned, pretty much it is just changing a few diaodes in the radio and soldering some bridges on the circuit board., also antennas will help you transmit further also, though you are limited to what you can use on a car. I dont have one on my car though, mine is in the truck below....

 

that mustang above really needs a spoiler. before you do anything else get a spoiler. the rear end almost looks like a luxary car

I think the rear looks super clean without the wing. If I didnt have the full blown saleen kit I would take my spoiler off.

LOL, Maybe he was having a " Bandit " flashback and wanted to run blocker for 100 cases of Lone Star beer to the east coast.. If so then any where under the dash would have been a good mounting spot with a couple of speedy screws. and a big *** antenna..
