Default need a laptop, help...

Computer guys, I need a really simple laptop that is only going to be used for:
-itunes (tons of music)
-pictures
-internet

Just basic stuff.

Nothing fancy with useless programs I'll never use, and I'd love a back-lit keyboard, but maybe that's asking too much. Not really wanting to spend more than 500 bucks. Ideas?

After having to deal with HPs customer service on one of their higher end laptops, just stay away from them unless you want to have a rage enduced brain aneurism.

Toshiba, Lenovo, hell even Acer are decent. Not sure about backlit keyboards but..this is one of the first things that popped up on newegg.

Solid processor, good ram for a laptop, decent amount of storage for a laptop.

A good old Dell Inspiron 1545 will do you good. Go on the Dell Outlet page and pick up a refurbished one.

4 gigs of ram, and 2.20ghz dual core will be more than enough for ya. Generally under 500 bucks for a refurb.

Stay away from Toshiba!!! Mine crapped out after 10 months and had to be sent in for a new hard drive. Three months later it did the same thing and Toshiba CS pretty much said tough luck it's out of warranty. My sister in law also recently had her Toshiba die in less than a year.

I will never own a piece of **** Toshiba again.

Sorry it took me so long to reply guys. I appreciate the help. I'm going to check out those links and see what I find? My inspiron 15R has seen better days, and I'm wanting a new one to switch everything over before it goes out.

I wasn't really planning on getting one of those. I'd like to order one from walmart.com or in the store, so I can use my walmart credit card. That way I don't have to pay it all at once, and can focus on my car payment.

If you have to get it from walmart. Its not a powerful pc but it should get great battery life and handle everything you do very well.

Well this is promising, I have a toshiba because I didn't need it for much and needed a long battery. It lasts 7 hours if I'm not doing 27 different things on it and like it so far (had it for over a year with no problems). I spent $650 after virus protection and whatnot
