My first 42inch panasonic EDTV cost me 2500. My newer 42in 720p panasonic plasma ran me 1500

Yeah man, we got a great deal on it. Normally $900 something. On sale at best buy. Also got Wii resort for my nephew, hell it's fun as crap too, if you don't mind the lil wii people. Archery is pretty awesome, so is waverunning.. LOL. As for the TV, I don't expect any issues. Looks great IMO..

Pretty much just sold 2 plasma TVs to my parents and grand parents with my skillz yo.

58" Panasonic Viera Cast
50" Panasonic Viera Cast G10

1080p, 600hz sub-drive, anti image-retention tools, yada yada.

I did a few hours of research on fluorescent LCD, LED LCD and Plasmas and plasmas are DEFINITELY the way to go unless you want to spent over $2,000. And for Plasmas the Panasonic Vieracast lineup is supreme.

I have an update on my panasonic 50" plasma I bought in Dec. Well we had a power outage in March and TV started ******* up next day. Would turn on, but shut right off, 6 blinking light error code. Geek squad come to fixy. New SC board.. Didn't work. I got tv back on after 30 mins of on and off holding down start button to reset. ( Kinda like rebooting).

Panasonic wants to geek squad to replace SC board again. ( maybe bad ). Same thing.

I finally learned that once i got the gadamm tv on after 20 or 30 mins of trying to reset it, to just leave it on all the time. And wait for geek squad to bring other new boards to try and fix,, SC boards and A boards. 2 or 3 hours each time the tech would come out to try and fix.

This went on till may 19th. Finally Panasonic told Geek squad dude to give me a new TV. After I jumped through all the ******* hoops, and got the receipt for an exchange. I saw they actually spent more ******* money on boards than the ******* TV is worth,

Replaced the SC board 4 ******* times at 240 bucks a board. And An A board at 200+ bucks. Then I had to take the old one back. And get a new one..

Good news is, They don't even make this ******* TV anymore. So now after a bunch of haggling ( thanks to my very short lil fused wife, God I love her when she's ripping a manager a new *******) They wanted us to take a smaller Panasonic or pay the difference for another model.

Hell no.

I now have a Samsung 50" plasma. No extra cost, Looks just as good as the panasonic. Just gotta learn the new controls.. LOL..

Not trying to rip Panasonic too bad, But geez they could have done better than make me wait 3 months and 5 service calls to fix it. Just replace the gadamm thing

The service guy was on the phone with them for 2 or 3 hours checking ****, At my house.. Checking the same **** every ******* time.. Even he was getting pissed off. WE TRIED THAT.

OH well I got a new TV again... Yeah. I resurrected this thread as not to start a new one. I think someone on here said Samsung or Sony. Or Fail?? LOL..

I would have gone with the LCD, I seem to hear a lot of problems with Plasma's.

Sorry to hear about that man, usually Panasonic is pretty good on their parts but power surge is a pretty hard one to determine what's causing it.

Glad to see it got situated out though! Hope this one works better for you. I'm still a Panny fan 'til death but not everyone has the same luck i guess!

I want to know where your facts come from?

Because in the real world they're false. Not starting an argument, but just stating.

I'm not gonna go hating panasonic cause I've had a lot of stuff from them and still do. I just think they could have done better by replacing ny tv after at least 2 tries to fix. And no more than a week tops.. But since march my tv was fucked up. And it was only 3 months old.. And yes it could have been directly related to the power out we had. Lots of ribbons that run from this board to that one, and could have had a break in there somewhere, But to spend that much money replacing the same board 4 times is not realistic.. At least from a customer standpoint, and probably not from a business standpoint either.. Anyway everything is cool for now.. Tv works and I'm happy again..
