Default LCD Question

Hey guys, long time no post, but I have an important question. I have a Mustang GT with the Mach 1000 audio system and am looking to get a fold out DVD Reciever/LCD screen. My question is that if i do get a new receiver, will it be able to work with my amps/subs from my Mach 1000 system? Or will i have to buy aftermarket ones?? Also if anyone has bought an LCD screen, any suggestions on what to get or where?? Thanks for the help!

I know that crutchfield.com sells the wiring harnesses. Check them out and see what you need.

you can get adapters for the wiring... that's not the biggest issue (particularly for a competent auto stereo installer). The big issue with the stock stereo is that it doesn't sound nearly as good with stock speakers and amps and wires and an aftermarket deck as it does with the stock matched components or a complete aftermarket job (not saying it sounds "bad"...just not as good by a long way). The mach was designed as an assembly and while adding a better deck is an upgrade it isn't usually as satisfying as you might think. If you're going to do it, have it totally redone from the wires to the speakers to the amps... everything.

My buddies at my local auto stereo shop have made the case clear for me in the past with a demonstration. I don't hear very well at all and I could even make out the difference so you may find it more convincing than me.

Ok, thanks for the help guys, MUCH appreciated.

R3dn3ck - I see what your saying with the stock setup with an aftermarket deck, but i really dont have the money for an LCD screen AND an new sub/amp setup. Is the sound decent enough to get by for a few months?? Dont know if i can be patient enough to hold out that long lol!!

do whatever makes you personally happy. I'm not saying it'll sound bad...I'm saying it's not nearly as good with stock stuff still in there as without.

All I have is a Mach460, Alpine 90w amp, and a Bazooka 10" tube. I get compliments about how it sounds from non-audiophile types. Nobody ever complains... so I'm happy. It sounds good enough for my deaf azz to be satisfied wtih. If I was a musician I'd probably want something a little more precise.
