Default yeah so i ran from the cops last night.

But his lights werent on yet so i think im good.

First off, i dont condone drinking and driving. However i DO do it from time to time.

I was at my local bar, its about 1/2 mile from my house. Got off work last night and swung on in for a beer. I was there 2 hours, drank 4 22oz beers. Then decided it was time to get home and get to bed.

When i was getting ready to pull out of a lot, a jeffco sherriff cruised by. No biggie. he was going the same way i was turning. So i go ahead and hop on the road, he is about 400 feet ahead of me, he turns left on a little dirt road that only goes 100 meters or so then ends, sometimes you see semi trailers parked there.

anyways as i was passing that road he was already turning around. I figured he was gonna stop there and sit and wait for speeders, unfortunatly he srtarted getting ready to hop back on the road behind me.

So right up ahead is the ONE SINGLE INTERSECTION i have to deal with when driving home from this bar. And the light was red.

****

so i hit a right hand turn, just as i was turning he is pulling back onto the road coming my direction about 300 feet behind.

So i floored my little honda and sarted hauling *** and banging through the gears. Maybe about 1/6th of a mile up the road i can cross left and hop into my neighborhood and thats what im booking for. Just as i start getting near the turn he comes hauling *** around that last turn heading up my way. He was definatly looking for something and i think it was me.

So i dodge into my neighborhood, hit the T intersection and ran the sign, left, corner right, take left, then right, then left and follow allll the way down untill the next right. I was hauling *** blowing past stop signs and ****.

i ducked through that neighborhood so quick he diddnt have a chance of finding me, pulled into the garage, closed the door, then grabbed something to eat and kept an eye out the window.

lol.

ok, stupid yes, i know.

I dont normally drive if i have been drinking. My local bar is maybe 1/2 mile from my house, closer to 3/4 mile on the roads and streets. that is about the only place i will risk it, cause i only have 1 intersection to deal with.

anyways, 4 22oz beers in 2 hours and i know i would have blown over .08 which is colorado BA limit because i haad just finished my last ber less than 5 minutes ago. I felt ok to drive, it was only 4 beers. If i woulda thrown 2-3 shots in there as well i may have felt a bit different about my driving ability.

Plus cabs never show up there when you order them. i dunno why.

im pretty sure he was after me. That bar is well known in the area, and just as he drives past and i get on the road he ducks into a vacant area long enough for me to drive by.

anyway

that was my excitement for the night.

as bad as drinking and driving is and running from the cops is, that story was rather entertaining.

I think I may be over cautious when it comes to drinking and driving Even after one beer or drink then I get nervous about driving.

There is a guy who works here who lost his licence for a year for a single beer. he dropped by a bar, had 1 beer then left, was immediatly pulled over and he blew a .08 on the BA since he just finished his beer. He went to court, the Judge had lost a nephew from a drunk driver so he has 0 tolerance for driving under the influence and threw the book at this guy.

gotta be careful.

I had something really similar happen to me. This cop was going the opposite direction I was, he stared right at me and then proceeded to do a u-turn to follow me. Luckily the light ahead was yellow so I just floored it to get through while he didn't have enough time and there was already so much traffic going through by the time that he got there that I was long gone. I wasn't drinking though, just speeding about 10 over. He also didn't have lights on so I didn't technically have to stop.

Well, I got a DWI in germany and I could have easily hopped on the autobahn and did 150-160 all the way till i got home but i pulled over. I had like 4 beers (16 ounces) in 4 hours. I was pulled over because I was driving with my foglights on...Yes, I had my headlights on but apparently its illegal to drive with Fogs on when there isnt inclement weather. Than they asked if I had been drinking and I said yup. I go back to their little test machine and blew a .38 which is .078 in the states. They told me that was too high and kept me from remembeing to turn my foglights off. I was arressted and processed and released to the military for further processing. I blew a .07 at the air force police station. I got bitched at by the deputy wing commander. I only had to pay a 200 euro fine and lost my license for 12 months. Oh the air force also took my NCO stripe...I lost a lot of money on that deal. I also couldnt test this year for my NCO stripe...I'm pulling chocks on active duty though and going guard if I cant switch over to the coast guard.

******* foglights and I was deemed impaired, LOL. **** that country. Not like I hit a curb, crossed lanes or was swerving.

Here's my 2 cents on this one, JACK, You should know better than that. I realize that you weren't technically intoxicated, and only a half mile from home, but if you had been caught, and blew .08, you would be have a DWI, and you don't need that bro. I used to do the same thing years ago, BEFORE, I was married and had a family that depends on ME, to act responsibly. OK enough chewing out for you.

You got lucky though, Geez, Just think if the cop was good enough to catch you. They would have thrown the fcking book at you. Eluding, resisting, and everything else he could have trumped up. Maybe even an *** whoppin, if you would have smart mouthed him. ( I feel that would have been possible with you). LOL..

Just go home a drink a beer or 2, Boring? Maybe, maybe not.. Just keep your family on your mind, before you decide to stop at a watering hole.

I know my post sounds like I still drink and drive...well I dont not since april 2008.

Sheriff Joe out of AZ throws people in Tent city in the middle of the desert with pink underwear. Not where someone wants to be after a DUI charge.

The risk is just not worth what seems like a quick and easy drive home.

I dunno man, you've gotten lucky I think, maybe he was rolling code (atleast what we call it here) and had to flip a bitch...i'm not sure..

I won't be a hypocrite and say I don't drink a few beers and drive home though..the worst part about it is I'm 21 in 17 days, and if I get pulled over, automatic DUI.

(Two CHPs have let me go, I blew a BA but wasn't enough to really do a whole lot of damage, but I was followed all the way home by one..)

I used to work at a bar. One night two years ago, I was absolutely shitfaced, and was even offered a ride home, but decided i didn't wanna leave my car at the bar. The bar is about 13 miles from my house, mostly interstate. I drove all the way, stopped at a store just off my exit to get smokes, pulled out of the store, turned left at the light, and there sitting at the bottom of the hill, less than 100 yards from my house, was what looked liked the entire ******* Clayton County PD. ROADBLOCK!!! I pulled on down there, of course was asked if i'd been drinkin which i admitted to. They asked me to where i was coming from, and then where i lived. I could SEE my house from where i was and pointed to it and said "right there". The cop laughed and said that sucks, sir, please step out of the vehicle. I promptly called him a dick, told him no, and demanded he let me go home. Needless to say, he told me prolly not, and again asked me to step out of the vehicle. I crossed my arms on my chest, and told him no again, stating that since i disagreed with not being let go, they were going to have to earn their paycheck to get me out of the car. Prolly not the wisest comment. The officer simply said, I'll be right back, and walked away. He came back with probably the biggest man i'd ever seen in my life. Probably 6'6" 320 lbs. easy, and wearing a police uniform. He said, sir, did my partner ask you to get out of your vehicle? I told him yes, several times. His response... "I'm only going to ask you once, and then I'm going to assist you". And so he did, right out through my driver's side window i went. Anyhow, i blew over the legal limit, was taken to jail, car was impounded, and had to go to court over it like 4 times, because the state kept asking for continuances for various things. The last time i went to court, they asked for yet another continuance, because they realized they had summoned a junior officer instead of the senior officer on scene due to a discrepancy in the police report!!!! The judge was furious, denied their continuance, and dismissed all charges. LUCKY ME!!! MORAL OF THE STORY... DRINKING AND DRIVING BAD!!!

For me and the guys I rolled with DD was Drunk Driver, thats been a few years now. We never got caught or drove if we felt we had WAY 2 much. Now I've don't even think about it when me and the old lady go out 1 drinks and 1 drives, no chances. Only ever been pulled once when I was drunk but I wasn't driving the girl driving my car hadn't drank any cause she was under age.

I can't say I've never ran from the police, but not after drinking. On the highway, he was going one was, I was going the other. He looks at me, I look at him. I pass him and he makes a U-turn. I floor the **** out of it and duck down onto a side road that leads to a friend's house that has multiple S-turns for me to gain some distance on from the officer. I don't know if he realized where I went once I got onto that side road becuase the way it's angled I can go full speed (~90mph+ at that moment) from the highway onto that side road. He may not have even been after me, didn't hang around to watch the lights go on. I wasn't even doing anything illegal other than not having a front plate but didn't want to deal with it at that moment.

I had been drinking at a party once, had to take a girl home, who was drunk as hell and underage, I wasn't drunk or feel impaired but I probably would have blown close to a .08, but I was underage at the time so it didn't even matter what I blew I'd be fucked. I'm on a highway and see a little ways up tons of police cars, I figure it's a roadblock. I immediately stop and turn around. I think they might even come after me but again, I get onto some side roads and find a way around all the police.

I've been pretty lucky with police. I try not to do anything illegal but we all make stupid decisions. I hope that if I was ever impaired, myself or my friends would make the decision that I should be driving.

Once again I say. Back in the day. In the late 70's to early 80's I was always driving drunk. Me and all of my friends had hot rods of some sort. We would find a parking lot to hang out on a main drag in town and drink beer and shoot the ****, and occasionally do a stop light to stop light quick drag race.. Sometimes we would gather everyone after drinking a crowd of beers, and make a convoy to Myrtle Beach. Drink and cruise all weekend, and drive back on Sunday still drunk. So I'm no angel in that sense. I think back now and realize, Geez how did I Not end up in jail or something.

Times are different now, plus my reflexes aint what they used to be. I never drink and drive anymore.. Too much to loose for me..

Im the same way bro! I used to do that **** too, but not too much anymore. However, when I was 18 or 19 years old I had a black Ranger Splash pick up with the 4.0 6er in it. The damn thing was really fast for a small truck. Anyhow, I was out riding the Mississippi river levee drinking and ****. Well, about the time my 18 pack was gone I figured it was time to go home, and I had to drive through my lil bitty home town of 2500 peeps. While I was driving through, I had to stop at the ONE AND ONLY RED LIGHT in my town. Well while Im sitting there I think to myself (drunk as **** mind you). . "Im gonna run from the cops tonight". . . . That light turned green and I floored it. I left the light smoking the tires and all. Doing about 90-100 through town I start thinking . . . "****. . . If I get caught. . . Im going to jail!" Luckily my town is small and that stretch only like 6 miles worth of higway. Somehow, I got to the other end of town w/o ever seeing one cop. Yes I know that was EXTREMELY STUPID and I was counting my blessings on the rest of the drive home (country roads there).

This has nothing to do with drinking but there used to be a street racing scene out here. It was pretty big. Everyone would go out to this backroad and race. Absolutely no houses around, just a road that was basically like a drag strip. They even had quarter mile markers.

Well apparently the cops had heard about it, and had a little bit of a sting operation. So one night everyones out there, I wasn't racing as I didnt even have my Mustang, but my friend had his z28.

All the sudden about 5 or 6 cops come flying with their lights on, and everyone takes off. EVERYONE. At least 20 cars. Well as we were driving away, we notice a road block on both ends. They had blocked off the road.

So my friend is driving and im like OH ****, and he goes "Hold on". He ******* swerved, around the road block, damn near in the woods, and took off. It was ridiculous.

That road block reminded me of a situation I was in once. Several years ago, when I still had the v6 mustang, a large group of friends and I gathered at a park that was located on the side of a highway that had a very large, flat, and straight access road. We were racing and hanging out. Probably about ten cars there. As we go to leave, one guy does a burnout and heads down though the park to leave and other file out behind him. I start doing donughts. As I'm in the car spinning around, I can see I my best friend running around and waving his hands at me trying to get my attention. He is yelling "POLICE!" and I then see lights and several police cars that had blocked the road up ahead in the park and had all of the people that had already left stopped. I'm luck that were was a back way out of the parking lot we were in and I bust tail out the back way and onto that access road with my friend. I realized that I didn't even have my lights on, so I left them off until I got out of sight of the police. I met up with the guys that got stopped a little later but I can't remember if they got tickets or anything. I don't think they had seen us racing, just the burn out and the fact that we were in a park late at night.

So make that another situation where I ran from the police.

Lol... it all seemed to blow over.

usually cops dont pay any attention to my honda. I suspect they assume the car is full of illegals and they dont want to deal with the paperwork so they ignore it.

lol

I have run from the police to when I was younger and stupid. I was driving back from a girls house in the keys doing 60 in a 45 and saw him turn his lights on and pull a uturn. So for some reason I said screw this and juiced it. turned off my headlights and used just the highbeams and ran for a mile and then pulled into a random neighborhood and hid for about 20 mins. We have all done stupid things. I don't ever drink and drive though. I have a handful of times in highschool thats it.

I have also been a copilot when we were testing my freinds Audi S4 and did 167 running from the cops. Again young and very stupid thing to do.

Yeah, There used to be a fine line on drinking and driving, and drunk driving, That line has gotten very thin today. I won't drive after 1 beer. I used drive drunk, when I was young and I was in control of everything around me..

Then there was a point where I would drink a couple of 3 beers in the parking lot after work with my coworkers, no problem there. Then a point where I would pop the top on 1 beer for the trip home. It would be gone before I got to the speed limit. Now I just wait till I get home. Then if I drink anything, I aint drivin nowhere.. Not worth it..
