Default Going 'Racing' ...er, high performance driving.

I'm just excited. I am going to another open track event with the Mid-South Porsche Club at the Memphis Motorsports Park this weekend. They moved me up from novice to intermediate after my first event back in May and I'm going to be driving with people who have been doing it for years.

Here is a list of the other cars that I will be driving with. I see about 4 that I know will typically be faster than me. Both of the Mustangs are v6.

1998 Porsche Boxster
2001 Chevy Corvette
1974 Porsche 914-6gt clone
2006 Lotus Exige
2002 Ford Mustang
2007 Lotus exige s
2005 Porsche 911 Cabriolet
2003 Saab 9-3
1998 BMW M3 Sedan
2008 Porsche Cayman S
2002 Ford Mustang
2006 Porsche 911

Planning on taking plenty of pictures and video. Time to DO WORK!

An Exige S??? WTF? That's not in the same class as most of those cars lol. That thing is nasty.

Get us some nice pics again if you can.

I will have some pics for sure. I have autocrossed with an Exige S and it was wicked. My last open track event I raced with a regular Exige and it wasn't nearly as impressive as I would have thought a Lotus would be. When a Lotus is holding up a Mustang in the turns, thats driver error. I expect the Exige S to have a good driver.

Damn It sucks that I have to work weekends or else I would come out and join ya, I only live like 30 mins from Memphis Motorsports Park. I think thats it anyway. I drove by there one time a year or 3 ago but never stopped. Never had the desire to race my car and beat the **** out of it constantly. Well let me correct myself. . . Im SURE I would LOVE to race my car but I cant see beating on my DD like that, so I have never done it. ANyway, GL bro, post some vids and pics!

Yo 01FR500. . . Have you ever checked out http://www.svtoa-memphis.com/ ? Log in and make a few friends, I can almost garuntee you some (if not most) of them guys will be there too.

Unless they are driving something other than a Mustang I don't know of any that are comming out, I couldn't find anything about it on the fourm there. There are only three mustangs including me and the other two are V6s and in my group. I'd love to have an instructor that didn't drive a Porsche though. Thanks for that website.

I would love to try that sometime, but I'd be wary to run her too hard, and I aint Boris Said, so I'd probably be off course a few times.

Take care of your stang though, She's starting to get old..

Fun day. Got video of two sessions and the girlfriend took some pictures of me on track. I don't mesh so well with my instructor, just several odd-ball small-ish reasons. I'm not learning much from him other than just getting practice on the course. If the rain holds off it should be a good day tommorow, well see. I'm so tired.
