Moderate High Performance Info Please
HI EVERYONE :toothy9:
I'M GETTING MY NEW '66 289cid convertible near or about the 22nd of JULY.
MY QUESTION(S) PLEASE.
I WOULD LIKE TO IMPROVE THE POWER. ITS PRESENTLY A STANDARD SHIFT 3 SPEED.
WHAT CAN I DO TO IMPROVE THE POWER ?
i'D LIKE TO SPEND ABOUT $2,000.00 ON THE IMPROVEMENTS. AND DO IT MYSELF WITH THE HELP OF A MEMBER OF MY CLUB. MUSTANG CLUB OF LAS VEGAS.
GREAT BUNCH OF GUYS.
SO THERE IT IS FOLKS.
ANY AND ALL INFO ON WHAT TO PUT ON THE CAR TO MAKE IT TO GET UP AND GO A BIT.
THANKS
GOD BLESS YOU ALL

I had a 66 coupe in high school many years ago (1977)
2,000 is not alot to work with. Mine was a 3 speed manual also. I swapped in a 4 speed manual. I would build up the rear end before doing much power wise..
Save your money for a crate motor and get the suspension and drive train built first. I blew up a bunch of rear end's on mine. They were not built for alot of power so get the basics done first.
