It's still gonna be pretty sad when the Taurus SHO comes out. Nothing like having a Taurus thats faster than your beloved Mustang GT.

Except not. The SHO weighs in about 500 pounds more than the GT. The dual-climate control kills the power and the AWD has traction control that can only be turned off through a tuner. They're only available in automatic, which blows even with the "manual mode". Plus for 40k I'd go buy a KB and slap it on a 2010 GT. They're nice, but just like the old SHO, still not a stang.

I'll smoke any stock SHO out there guaranteed. Now, given that the turbos are easy to push more boost out of and make them run in the low to mid 400hp range. THEN it would be a race.

I'm just saying Ford's V8 is pretty weak compared to smaller engines out there. They did it right with the Cobra R. DOHC 5.4 390hp N/A. Why can't they just pop that into the GTs and leave the supercharged versions for the GT500. There are way too many V6s out there that out perform the 4.6 V8.

Because that would throw it strictly into the "performance car" class. No more dual-role as the family car/sports car. Plus, if people are already complaining about the price what would they say when they pay for a 5.4L? You'd be looking at a price close to MSRP Cobra's (stating that they keep the same nice interior and looks).

The Mustang's main role ATM is not to be the top dawg of them all. not with the failing economy. GM is shutting down 2,000 plants.....but yet still trying to stimulate the economy with gas-guzzling muscle cars. I don't see it lasting for long. The Volt is a joke, electric cars have been around for years. GM actually produced one in 2001! The Mustang is just trying to survive, no reason to do anything drastic.

Pretty soon, we are going to be having a bunch of soccer moms hauling their kids around in Mustangs and the younger crowd who use to like Mustangs will be getting something else. Oh wait, thats already happening. I hardly see any younger person driving an 05+ around here. A lot of them are old dudes or women.

+100 to that. I went down to the House of Boost last weekend for my buddy's EVO and they were almost shocked to see a younger person in a newer stang. Erik said he sees older stangs all day, but they've only had ONE S197 there and it was driven by a 40-year old guy. I never see anyone young in a newer mustang. I see a ton of them in older stangs, GTOs, camaros, etc. Kinda sucks too.

Where I live, I see more V6 Mustangs than anything else. Out of every 10 05-09 Mustangs I see, I'd say 8 of them are V6's and I've seen people of all ages driving them. When I see GT's, they're mostly driven by middle-aged people. I'll occasionally see someone around my age in one, but they're usually men. I've seen 2 older women (maybe in their 30's) driving stock GT's, but I'm the only chick I know of around here with a modded GT.

We old farts are the ones that can afford the insurance on the GT's and the mods and to fix 'em when we screw 'em up.
