Default would any of you ever buy from a repo lot

Last weekend my brother took me to a place by my house that I had never heard of before it's a place that holds onto cars for banks once they have been repoed anyway there is a green 2000 gt vert with 90k (lots) there with a sticker of 4k the great thing about this place is that you make an offer and if they turn you down you can just up your offer a small amont and depending on how long it's been there I could get the car for 2.5 or 3k

you can go in a test drive the cars and check out whatever you want on them for free I haven't had a chance to drive it yet but what are you guys thoughts I'm not a huge fan of green but the 2 year and 2 cylinder upgrade would be nice

I don't see why not.. I mean it would be no different than buying a car at auction, which is what a lot of stealerships do, just drive it and get a carfax..

My girlfriend bought her first car at an auction for repo cars like that. She paid ~$1500 for a '96 Camaro, it was in decent shape too, ran good.

hellz yeah. If you have access to actual repo's. If they're just surrenders or lease returns... not so much. People don't get cars repo'd that they didn't like a little bit to start with.. they'd just surrender them.

yeah they are deffinately repos there is some nice stuff in there. there is also a bunch of crap but you can go in test drive anything for free and look at everything on the car from bumper to bumper to see if you are getting a good deal

the problems that I see with this gt are

it's green (personal preference)
it's auto (personal preference)
it's a vert (personal preference)

whats good about it is it looks like it has been lowered or it's stock springs are shot cause there is about an inch and a half between the rubber and the fender the exhaust doesn't look stock either but that could just be tips i couldn't drive it cause when we got there it was closed but it was parked right next to the fence

With the money you saved buying it from a repo lot, you could always get it repainted. Save up some more money and do a transmission conversion.

I could deal with the green, the auto (obviously, because I love my automatic transmission), but I wouldn't like that it is a vert. Too much of a pain in the *** for the Florida sun.

If it being green, an auto, and a vert really bother you, then just wait to find one you really like that satisfies your preferences. It would probably be cheaper that way.

Just save up your money until you can get what you want. If you think "Well I can change this, and change that" then you don't want it. Save your valuable time and money.

I settled for an automatic and look at me now. lol. I hate it!

Yea honestly i wish soooo bad that i had a hardtop, i like vert dont get me wrong but, man you cant beat a hardtop, sound wise plus you can put louvers and etc on it. And yeah a car is kinda a 1 time deal, id just wait and save up for your dream car.

Yeah I will deffinatly let this one go but if a 98 laser red manual gt or cobra shows up I will beat the hell out of anyone who gets in my way.

My bro went just before the winter and he said all the cars were different so the turnover at the place is pretty quick

If none of us wanted to 'change this and change that' then we wouldn't be modding our cars.

As stated above, I love my automatic. The only way I'd get a manual is if I had a Cobra. Other than that, automatic is where it's at for me.

I was leaning towards disliking something, and thats why you'd change it.

For example, I didn't want a 99-00 GT when i was in the market.

I settled for a 2000, and had to do this.

Wheels
Tires
Headlights
Hood.

What im saying is, if theres another option out there to get what you want. Be patient and you'll find one.
