Default Got the fever again......

Hello all members, old and new, Happy Thanksgiving. Well some of you may remember me. I was in this forum everyday last year when i was deployed. CONSTANTLY asking questions about how to beef up the old GT. I had a black 2000 GT did quite a few things to it...cam swap, full bolt-ons, 4.10, the list go on and on. Well i ended up selling it for a "family car" when i got home and now i have the fever again. I'm going with a 03/04 cobra when i get home. I'm deployed in Iraq AGAIN and the internet is as slow as a ricer out here...I have a few questions for my fellow 4V friends..

1. Going with the 2.8 pulley will i have to upgrade the injectors?
2. Is the JLT all its cracked up to be? (The intake)

I know those questions belong elsewhere, but i didnt wanna throw up 2 posts. Plus the internet is INSANE how slow it is out here. Well i will get back home around march/april timeframe and a cobra is is the near future. So count me back in guys...

Respectfully,
Another hp deprived, mustang missing, member

oh one more thing...im glad to see the 'get together' section is still running. I was one of the first to help push for that. Oh and Red...dont know if your still here, but thank you again for the advice and helping me with the phone call questions when i did my cam swap, long tubes, and stall converter....

Welcome back to the boards. I can't answer the pulley question, but I'll take a crack at the JLT one.
I've got the JLT CAI with the ram air adapter kit for the shaker and I love it. You definitely feel a difference. But since you don't have a shaker, you can probably save the money and go with a K&N filter and get the same results. I haven't tried going the K&N route, personally but I've heard many times that it makes about the same difference. If you all for JLT I say go for it. You can probably find a painted kit on Ebay to spice up the looks under the hood for quite a bit less than you could from the JLT website.

JLT will look good under the hood and it will help the roots pull in some air...

i answered your other post but i will add some info here from what i seen from other cobra owners out there.

few guys have put in 2.8 and 2.7X pulley's and have made decent mid to upper 400 wheel horsepower so if you add a 4# lower to that combo you will go over 500. while keeping stock injectors all you will have to add is a 40 amp BAP and a MAFIA or buy a SCT 2800 or whatever size they are selling now to cover your tuning needs.

i would save the money and strap a bigger blower on it like a kenne bell 2.8 or a whipple 2.3 and have 600+ hp on pump gas...all you will have to add is a BAP couple GT pumps run some -6 lines from each pump to a Y a single -8 line to a T at the rails and -6 lines for each rail to feed 60# injectors. thats a over kill fuel system for 600 but it will be safe to run if you decide to up the boost. the stock block will take this power no problem. im leaving out some things like a modified fuel hat to house each pump the nice ones are real pricey but really simplify this whole build. you may also have to buy modified FPDM to handle the extra AMPs you will be pushing through them. the next weak link will be the tranny just send it to a tranny shop and have them add a 26 spline input shaft and put in a clutch that will handle the power.

oh if you find yourself passing through ramstein just PM me and i will hook you up with a number to call me if your unit lets y'all come off post.
