I've had a fever for the last couple days now high 102 dropping to 96 and now back over 100 im getting the sweats and then chills.. ive been wearing a sheet to sleep drinking water and taking aleve every 8-12 hours anyone have tips on how to get rid of a fever fast!?!

 

Whenever I have a fever, and take a shower..it feels alot better for the next few hours

 

Keep yourself hydrated and treat the symptoms. Its hard to give advise for a fever without knowing the root cause, i.e. is it bacterial, viral or allergies. Did you cut yourself recently? Is it infected? Is it the flu? Is the pollen count up in your area?

Again, without knowing the root cause, I'd treat the symptoms and ride it out. Stay hydrated, limit physical activites, I prefer taking Tylenol over Aleve when feverish. Some Benadryl would be good on the off chance that its allergy related. Thera-flu is good to for fighting fevers.

If your temperature gets higher than 102, go to the ER. Temps of 103-105 tend to affect organs and brain function. Good luck, I hope you get to feeling better.

Edit: Aye, I agree, if running a temp, a cool shower will offer some relief.

 

Dude, Go see a doctor, you probably need some antibiotics. Depending on your age, A fever in an adult usually aint a good thing.. It could be life threatening at 104 or above for an adult over age 30. I'm 47 and a fever of 102 would put me into, give me my last rights mode. Geez high fevers suck, Cant quit shaking one min, Can't cool off the next, Hot shower usually makes your bones quit hurting though, But it's only temporary..

Haven't had a high fever in the last 5 years here.. Low grade fevers still put me in whiner mode..

Put some ice packs under your armpits and nuts. Works all the time after football.
