Ok heres the deal.. My inspection sticker is up on my car its over year an a half old and obviously cant get one with check engine light on.. but my problem is I use to have o/r x but switched back to catted X while I was running the o/r x I had MIL eliminators.. I cable tied them to the frame and they got loose and started to drag on the ground the 02 sensors didnt rip completely but there frayed alittle bit and some of the wires inside are cut.. I took the MIL's out when I put the cats back on and still the engine light stays on.. I really dont want to spend $300 for a tunerjust to remove the check engine light.. does anyone have any other way I can remove this damn light so I can get an inspection sticker..?

 

unplug battery 30 minutes. Come back with an empty beer. Don't know if that'll totally clear the code but it should shut the light off.

 

^ Neg cable and I would drink 2 beers just too be on the safe side. You dont want to rush things.

 

that will get rid of it permantely??...

 

from what i have heard all that will do is clear the code then when the computer finiches redoing the test it will come back on. and if you go to get it smog tested it wont pass because the tests will show as "incomplete" in the computer.

i live in michigan so no smog test but it is what i have heard.
