Default Who do you bank with?

I'm looking for a new bank. I've over drafted my account twice in two years and got screwed up the *** for it. Who do you bank with and what do you like about it?

Union bank of California, but they don't have those in Colorado. Who are you banking with now? My girl uses WAMU and she's pretty happy with them.

I banked with Wells Fargo for 10 years and recently switched to Bank of America because that's who holds my home loan. I also had two problems within 6 months of people getting my ATM card number. One time they used the number to buy auto parts at pep boys....the other time they actually were withdrawing money from my account through random ATM's....never lost the card or had it out of my possession. Long story short I had a hunch it was an inside job at Wells Fargo.

There is this thing you can do... called balancing your checkbook and finances. It usually keeps you from overdrafting.

Bank of America
Great because they are all over the place, and I commute often from CT to RI so no local bank will do.

Thumbs up

I've been using wamu since I was 18! I could not be any happier! When I was younger (I'm 23 now) I use to overdraft my account all the time! I always called this chick that worked at my local wamu and she would refund the fees they charge when you overdraft! They are usually $30-35 bucks! Wamu is the ****!!

ive given up on banks....
i use netspend.com
it is a prepaid card (direct deposit)
there is an upfront fee of about $10 to order the card and you can pay $10 month to get no fees at all (except ATM's). They do not, under any circumstance, charge you if you go negative. my paychecks are supposed to hit fridays and I'm always paid before 8am thursday. I also set up my account to email me for every transaction and send my balance every morning (i get my gmail on my Crackberry so, I always know what is going on.
you can link it to your ebay, paypal, use it like a checking account (you have a bank name, routing number, and account number) and has a ""built in" savings account that does earn intrest.
also, if you know someone that has a netspend account, you can transfer money for free.
so, if you use direct deposit and rarely deposit checks
if you do not want one single overdraft fee
if you dont mind not having a physical bank you can walk into
if you are just sick and tired of banks' BS
id say go with www.netspend.com

the only drawback i can possibly imagine is the tiny $10/mo for absolutely no fees

i love it!

I would never use Bank of America in a million years.. They might as well just change their name to Bank of Mexico or Bank of Screwing Americans.

I use Regions (used to be Amsouth) and have always been fairly satisfied with them, they have alot of ATM's and decent customer service, but I have been thinking about switching to 5/3.

As far as the overdraft deal, you just need to learn how to budget a little better, I have never balanced a check book in my life, just keep up with mine on the internet..

I F-ing hate Bank of America!!! They rape you with absolutley Zero Lube and you feel it!!!

Not to mention they like giving credit cards to people who aren't citizens...but that's a different story...back to the hard core **** penitration...I have litteraly been bent over backwards chooking on my ******** dispute after dispute, zero orginization and I can't figure out why they put a hold on my paychecks every single time I need to cash one.

Sorry...I'm cranky
