Default police pursuit ends with COP charged

car runs from cop...cop rightfully chases...high speed chase ends with a major car accident...cop (?) charged with manslaughter...cop (?) looking at jail time for causing the crash by chasing the bad guy...

translation?

I can't watch the video cause I'm at work but every state has rules like that. Officers are trained specifically in pursuits on when it is better to stop the pursuit, continuing to do so could put innocent motorists in danger. In dallas during rush our for the most part officers will not pursuit you for a minor infraction. It makes perfect sense. Several troopers have been fired and held liable in civil court in many instances for reasons already mentioned. I remember a few years back, A kid was hauling *** on I-20 in a crotch rocket, a trooper clocked him going 120+ and decided to pursuit, kid started going faster because he knew he was toast and ended crashing and killing himself...the trooper was fired and had to pay some serious $$$$. I know they are BS laws, because it doesn't excuse what the offender did, but in the eyes of a jury, a $150 traffic ticket is not worth a persons life...
