turbo charged or supercharged

Depends on what you want to do with it.
Roots/Twin Screw - Bad *** steet machine
Centri - Street/Strip blower that is more cost effective than a KB
Turbo - King of the mountain but very expensive and costly to install. But most come with tons of stuff like manifolds, h pipe, new suspension stuff.
www.modularpowerhouse.com they have great info on blowers.

there are no good 2v turbo kits. unless you want to spend tons on a twin kit. and the only one of those i like is the induction concepts kit. which is 10 g's. i say centri blower for a street car

The most important question is how much HP do you want to make and how deep are your pockets. A supercharger kit doesnt come with headers, kmember and few other things that add up close to what the turbo kit costs. $4k for a supercharger add $1200 for kmember and headers so you see it really comes out to $5200. You have to add up all the components that are included or not included to compare the two.

You cant get a twin turbo setup for $5K. MPH sells the HP twin kit for just over 6K for the kit or just over 7K installed and tuned.
For under 5K total your real only option is a centri blower, sure you can buy a KB 9psi kit for under 5K but you cannot get any supporting mods that you need such as axles and diff if you plan to launch hard or run slicks or drag radials safely. Also if you are going to have someone install it for you a KB is way over 5K and the centri would be about $4700 installed from MPH for a Novi and 4300 for the vortech SQ.

if 5 thousand dollars is your ultimate budget i wouldnt go power adder. the rear needs to be built as well as other breakages that arise in the power adder world. especially in a 5.0 which is an older car with weak blocks.

Either way will make more HP. It's just a matter of how much money you are willing to spend. For a 4V Cobra all effort Street turbo setup, if you have to ask how much it costs...you don't have enough money.
The general consensus is 20k to begin a turbo setup on a 4V Cobra. I don't imagine the 2V to be too much different, except in the cost of Heads/Cam's being about half the price.
Either way. If you go Supercharger on a 2V get a Novi 2K...you'll never make more power then it can handle. If you go Turbo just research alot...compressor sizing and routing is critical to the characteristics of the combo.

yeah definitely supercharger, read up on the different types so you can get an idea of whats best for you, for $5,000 you can get a centrifugal installed and tuned with a new maf and a chip which will still be safe if you keep it low boost, and still get some cash back hopefully. turbos are going to run you a lot more and they are capable of more hp so youll spend a few thousand on stronger engine and drivetrain components.

There really is no "best" supercharger. It all depends on what you want to do with it.
Most of what I have seen:
Centri for a car that is street/strip with plans to build motor and up boost later
Kenne Bell for a car that is mainly street driven with the goal to be basically 14psi max on the 1.7L.
However with the grunt of a 5.0L I would go with either a vortech or paxton novi and would lean towards the Novi 2000.
