i think hes a dousche for tryin to say he didnt know any better about killin for sport being wrong BUT.......its a dog...this whole thing is blowin up like he killed a girl scout...its a dog...geez...in other countries the cow is sacred but i'll be damned if a hamburger aint great tastin...i just think people need to get a grip....

 

I think dog fighting is horrible, however the part that you have to be sick in the head to defend is the part where him/and or his friends were killing the dogs that weren't fighting or fighting well.....and the methods they were using to kill the dogs are sickening.

I'm just happy that professional sports are finally starting to crack down on the "thug" mentality of the athletes.

I listened to his press conference this morning and I about laughed my *** off when he said " I've found jesus, and asked for his forgiveness". What a jack ***

 

Mike Vick is a jackass. He's not even that great of a player to begin with and I don't think killing dogs is the same as killing cows. Torturing a dog is one messed up thing and you have to be pretty messed up yourself to actually be able to do it. He deserves whatver he gets even though I'm sure he get some way reduced sentence. I'm just glad the NFL is still sticking it to him though. Bye bye to his signing bonus.

I hope he gets what is the STANDARD punishment for this sort of crime. Everyone is worried about him not being punished enough, but I see no reason for him to carry the burden of the numerous celebrities and athletes to get a slap on the wrist in past years. I'm getting tired of seeing athletes **** away their lives and reputations. If it's really that difficult for athletes to just stay out of trouble while making millions of dollars for playing a game, I'll gladly fill in their place.

 

I hear that my friend! The problem is they are thugs. Both the Vick brothers are thugs. I new Marcus was a thug, wasn't sure about Mike until this came out. Doesn't Michael Vick have a building named after him at Va Tech? I would suspect they will be giving his money back and re-naming it.

 

I wouldn't even give him his money back. I would just rename it. His brother is a dumbass as well. Should of known Vick wasn't any better when he stood up for his brother after what he did on the field(can't remember what it was) and then when he pulled a gun on some kids.

Everyone used to say that Michael should take Marcus under his wing, and teach him how to be more responsible. I guess he must have taught Marcus everything he knew. Unfortunately, not only are there buildings named after him, but he will always be the face of VT football.

There are tons of analagies that you could use. I really don't dissagree with you, but that debate will never get resolved. People are just too personal about it. And that gets to my point, what I was trying to say is that despite the reality, the perception is that most people are animal lovers. Vick made a gigantic public image misstake no matter whether you think it is fair or not.

Take a look at movies. They show killing of people all the time....some really gory stuff. BUT, kill a dog, and people go ape ****. People love dogs.

Ok, the court system IS full of douchebags, no doubt. Chicks get busted with cocaine, 2 DUIS, spends a total of one day in jail, the other 20 days, the other 82 minutes.

Athlete gets busted for having Pit Bull Rape Holds, Dog fights, killing dogs, ect, he faces like 18 months in jail, NFL suspension indefinately.

Sure, jail time isn't exactly fair.

Now, the whole deal with "chinese food places serving cats" ect. Well, just wanted to make this clear, in China, Rats are a delicatcy. So...take that however you want it.

There are extremely strict laws in the U.S. however, about animal cruelty. Putting a female dog in a post so the male dog can have its way is disgusting, putting two starving beaten dogs into a pit and letting them rip eachother to peices, and whichever one loses dies, is against the law. It has been for over 20 years now, and the people that get busted do serious jail time.

As for his public image, I'm not a racist person, but it kinda made me sick to my stomach when I heard someone say "Vick said that its 'part of his culture'" and I imagine it did many other people as well.

If you're talented enough to make millions of dollars, for playing a SPORT, why the hell can't you stay away from all the garbage? You can buy damned near anything you want yet you want to go buy a shitload of pitbulls and have them fight so you can bet on them?

Athletes in general are getting hammered by the law when they are breaking it, its been that way for a while.

As for "society acts like their **** don't stink" Well, most people in society don't get paid a few million a year, most of them are throwing dogs into holes in the ground and watching them fight.

Society gears up on the rich and famous for a few different reasons, one of the biggest, the injustice towards them. They get 18 months, whereas the average joe would be looking at the full punishment, not to mention all the fines.

Society gears up and screams and bitches in hopes that the courts will turn around and actually treat people fairly like they are susposed to. But they never do, because money buys people their way out.

 

I think dedicating time or money on sports is dumb. Im not a sports guy and I could care less who wins at what. I always ask how much do you make when your team wins, most of the time its $0. The sports industry just like the music industry is a money making machine. It not about whos the best but selling you somthing whether it be a jersey or a style of dress.

My godson lives in a rough neighborhood. He was always in trouble since he was a minority in his school. Hes latin in an all black school. His main concern is not getting into drugs or in a gang but part of his problem is the dont stare at me hard mentality. I asked him to listen to rap for the beat and melodys but not the lyrics or image. I explained to him that once you are in the real world the majority of people dont dress or speak like music stars. Unless he plans to be in that industry he should learn to speak normal and dress normal.

Sometimes I work in really bad neighborhoods and seeing adults with gold teeth,underwear hanging out and fully dressed like they were in a team makes me think wow the idustry takes another victim. I was there back in the 80s break dancing on the corner on a piece of cardboard when hip hop took off and now I could care less as I think that music genre has lost its way and it is self destructing everything it touches.
