Default Vick to the Eagles

What do you all think of the Eagles signing Vick? Not here to talk about his issues just the strictly football part of it. Was it a good move?

I'm not sure how he will fit in, but I'm officially a Eagles fan now... He was my favorite football player and will continue to be... I'm ready to see how rusty he is...

yeah. I think it was smart on vicks part but not sure about the eagles. I think if they have him run some wildcat it will work out but they need to bring him backinto the game slowly.

Well everyone is talking about what a solid organization the Eagles have. Which for the most part is true however, when McNabb has a bad game I fear the fans will be cheering for Vick to come in. I guess no matter where he went it was going to be like that though. I think they will just train him get him back into shape and use him for trade bait.

It just came out that Andy Reid is "thinkin long term" when it comes to Vick so maybe they are trying to see if Vick and become a better quarterback than before and let Mcnabbs contract expire. Its still up in the air though. If he sucks to bad they'll just can his ***.... Hopefully that won't be the case.

i dotn think they are trying to get him to take Mcnabbs place. I think they just want him to do other things to give them options and keep him for a few years doing that and maybe the wildcat offense

McNabb will go 3-3. Vick will come in and try to redeem himself and destroy everything in his path.

honestly, i think it is a great thing for the eagles. low risk, high reward. its a 1 year deal with available second year. 1.6 million (i think) isnt that much money in football. hell, its what the Eagles paid for Akers. as i have been telling other people, we can use him as a back up qb or a running back.

think, shotgun mcnabb and vick side by side, we really could hike it to either one...say they hike to mcnabb, and have vick as man in motion going wide. mcnabb gives the ball to Vick and he bombs it down field or just bolts thru the line. there are really endless trick plays that can happen with vick in the game.

i think that its a great move for an already rock start to the preseason with all of the mishaps with current players.

it will surely be an interesting year for the eagles.......interesting is an understatement.

I think it could work out well for them. we shall see but if they use vick like you said that would make the offense hard to stop. Vick could throw a deep ball fine but it was his shorter passing game that sucked. I wish my team would have done something at QB.... Stinking Delhomme lol at least Steve Smith is already back

Vick to the Lions would have made more sense. Get Dante outta there and back on his couch where he belongs. Stafford could take a few pointers from Vick while developing his own style.

Word around the net is that Reebok is about to start going into production with the new "Vick 7" jersey. That is crazy he hasn't even started playing yet. Reebok says that it is a high demand already for the jersey so they are going to start production soon. The Eagles probably broke even with its fan base, lost some and gained some.

U don't think losing a 100 million dollar contract and having to leave your family for 18 months. Not to mention he lost most of his possesions and now is millions of dollars in debt. Where I'm from people do stuff like that a whole lot and I've never seen anyone punished for it. I guess that makes me a thug also.

Ladies this was suppose to be just about the football side of it not if he deserved a second chance or if he is a thug. Strictly was it a good move by the eagles!

vick is an ATHLETE
an ATHLETE beyond most
they are going to line him up in every position but offensive line
they are going to run hella options
wildcat
trick plays
have him out wide and just run the regular i

i THINK andy reid said he would hate to be the defensive coordinator playing d eagles and i agree

what would your game plan b

Will it be beneficial for the Eagles? Yeah, it will be.

A lot of people will be tuning in and going to games to see him fail. There was a major outcry for this guy to do some serious time and lose everything that he had and now that he has, people will not be standing in line hoping to see him succeed.

So, like I said.. Yes it will sell tickets and yes it will make them money, but not for the reasons that j_gutta had hoped for.

And j_gutta, if you honestly don't think this guy showed a thug mentality, then you've got an incredibly messed up sense of reality. JM2C!

I don't think Vick is really all that great of a quarterback to begin with. Eagles can have him. Sure he can run the ball, but a good quarterback stays in the pocket and thows the ball and only scrambles when he absolutely needs to. He did start to get better, but I don't think he's spectacular. Steve Young was a pretty damn good runner when he had to be, but lets see Vick match his passer rating.
