Mike Wants a Mustang
Alright I want to get a car... I turned 16 2 monthes ago... And I want a stang... What does everyone think I should get... Like 2005, 2004 and so on... And for the 2004 and 2005s should I get a new or used? And like what performance parts? Money is no problem so give me the hook up :-D

Do you like the new 05's? If so then I would go with an 05. But with the 05's hitting the lot I'm sure you can pick up some sweet deals on a new 04 also. If money is not problem, then go new for sure. I would go with a 2005 yellow GT myself.

Personally, I think the 2004 stang is about as perfect as they come... they pretty much knocked every kink out with this year. I would go for an '04 GT or Mach 1 An '05 would be of course an awesome choice too with a 33% stiffer frame, 13.00 flat quarter mile times off the lot and about a million performance parts already on the market. Don't forget though, how many problems did ford have when they first redesigned the stang in '99. Just be careful, I'd give'em a year or two to knock some bugs free.
I got my '04 sixer for $14,500 with 2 miles on the sucker. Greenway ford down here in florida is a great place!
::hint hint:: Yellow mach 1 baby!

My choices would be:
2003/4 Mach I
2003/4 GT Vert
or, the 2005 GT.
BTW, 2005 GT's do not run 13.0 flat from the showroom. I have seen time slips of 13.6 - 14.3 by experienced drivers.
If you are on a budget (which it seems like you are not), then I would get a 2000 GT Vert. Low miles can get one for about 13 - 15K and can mod the zhit out of it w/o worrying about the warrenty.
At 16 it pains me to know what your insurance would be.

man that yellow Mach 1 is sweet looking. With some bullit wheels would look better, IMHO.
Mike, you can get some sweet deals on an 04 GT right now. And as iceman said this is the last of the body style that they have just about perfected. Plus it's the 40th anniversary model. I've had mine for almost 1 month and I keep finding ways to enjoy it.. Fun to drive, an absolute joy to look at (eye candy). Runs like a scalded cat, and it's very comfortable for 2 and 1/2 people to ride in. I'm very satisfied.

Ya the '05's are nice but I just don't think they look mean enough (not saying you can't make them look mean, i.e. the Steeda edition '05's)... Like Mike said, they look luxurious... IMO there is nothing better than the front end of a black '99-'04 stang, the front just glares back at you like a mustang front end should, especially when they're like 1-inch from the ground.

No offense, but your too young for a v8, get yourself a beater for a year to shake your driving skills down, then get the GT. You will break your heart when you wreck it, or hit somthing stupid. Plus, getting the first year of a totally new vehicle isn't a good idea, they will no doubt have issues, not to mention there won't be much in the way of mods for awhile.

You said money is no biggie then go all out and get yourself a snake....03-04 these are mod happy cars. SLP makes a kit and you'll have 500+ RWHP and a totally stock underhood appearence. Just my opinion but the Mach 1 is a bad mother also and is very collectable.

Money is definitely an issue for me shoot! I pay $295/month for my sixer and $340/month for insurance... AND! I'm a safe driver, how much sense does that make?
Just imagine a V-8 bro, your talkin insurance out the *** unless you have a mommy that can sign your stuff for you.

What would you pay me for my car Mike?
-2000 GT vert 80k miles excellent condition (including paint, very uncommon for 80k)
-Minor modifications (3.73 gear, dress up, exhaust, black bullit wheels, NX nitrous with GenX 2 kit (not fully installed yet), etc etc)

I'd say 12 or so is very reasonable. I know you and you know me. You wouldn't have any problems with the car, its healthy and in good shape. I'm thinking about going to a Mach1 or 03 Cobra.
I'm planning to actually sell it to my brother several months from now, but I offered it to him for 10 and I would need about 2 more than that to go against my word so to speak. I'd probably be spending time scouting him out another car as well, so it would pay for my time involved there.
I'm just thinking out loud. If you can get your 'rents to get you in a 2005 GT, without a doubt try for that. When are you looking to get a car? I'll definately lead you in the right direction, let me know what cars you come across.
