Default difference in paint?

speaking of chips in the front bumper of my car... one of the guys who hits the night streets with me has a bmw m3....i was checking the front of his car this morning and theres no chip damage on his car...now we race the same streets at night and usually at the same speeds....whats the deal...how come i have a few chips on my bumper and he doesnt? does mustang have a much cheaper paint than bimmer? his car is blue and mine is silver so i would think his would show more so than mine
