Default Difference between deep dish and reg. rims

im looking into buying 18x9 i guess, chrome billet rims for my 02 stang, and ive also seen they have deep dish billet rims. Which rims do you personally like better and why? Does the "deep dish" factor really change the appearance? the pictures are hard to go by when making a pretty big investment in rims

Adrian-

what kind of tires and what size are you running? How are they holding up? Been thinking about getting some deep dish with 315 width DR's, but I'm worried they're gonna wear too quick.

I think 18" deep dish in the back looks great with 17" standard bullets in the front.

You only put the deep dish on the back, if you look at the front of the white GT you'll see that they are not the deep dish rims that are in the back.

It's my roomates GT. MY GT, the black on in my sig, has some no name tires that were on there when I bought it. Soon to be replaced when I order my FR500's and sell my OEM 03 Cobras. He picked up some kumaho 712's on the front (275's) and they are the nitto 555R drag radial on the back. It's only been on the car for about 2 weeks so I couldent really give you a good openion on them. But everyone else I know that has them really likes them. They will only last 15-20 thousand miles at the most though. so it's good to pick up in the beginning of summer, but you'll need some sort of cold wet weather tire for the back in the winter.

Thanks I appreciate it.

I'm not too worried about "winter". I live in SoCal, so I could probably leave them on most of the year (this rainy season being the exception). I'd keep the 2 rear stockers as my wet tires.

Yeah you should be fine then. The nitto's are actually quite good in wet weather. as long as you arn't dropping the hammer too much. but of course they arn't going to be good as an summer dry/wet tire for example

Like I said, As long as you're not dropping the hammer you should be alright. Common sense goes a long ways.
