Default Argh Damn it

So, things lately at my job have been kinda..getting rocky.. and i'm thinking about leaving..

Right now, I'm not making much money, I knew I would make alot when I first started, being 18 and having no experience in the construction field. I've been with the same company for 7 months, I've seen one raise.

To make things better, the work that has been done so far, has been done by two people, my boss and myself. I'm not talking small jobs either, we did a 2400 square foot art gallery from the floor to the ceiling, which is about 25ft in up. Alot of custom work ect went in that.
So last week, he sends me to this house to get it to pass code, so i'm like alright, no problem. Do everything, but the cooler doesn't work, the breakers and wiring isn't strong enough to power them, my dad being an electrician shows up tells him to run wire under the house to the outlets and he'll come back and wire it up.
He sends me to do it, so I'm like, ok, whatever, I'll do it. I pop the bottom of this thing open, and I see atleast 50 black widow eggs. I go buy my spray ect trying to kill off some of these bastards. Mind you, there is no one with me, so if I get bit, I'm screwed, if something hits me in the head, i'm screwed.
Anyways, I'm under this house crawling with like 50lbs of wire ..it ends up getting tangled, I'm under this house trying to untangle it, black widow falls on my face. So I crawl out, tell him hes going to have to come do it.
So the next morning hes all pissy ect.. whatever, no big deal. Then friday/saturday he got pissy because of this new job..and its really out of my control..

Longer story, I'll shorten it..

I'm thinking about quitting, but before I do I need to make sure I've got another job lined up, just hard to find something that will except an 18 year old kid with hardly no experience in the world and will pay him a reasonable wage.. Looking for decent pointers.

Prostitution and Stripping are no goes.

look into retail jobs like selling cell phones or something. Just something that will give you a good commission check every month. I'm not saying trying to find one as a job to keep but just to get you out of there and give you time to find something you really like. Most retail stores, you really don't need much experience.

****, I'm 18 and I'm averaging 12.50 an hour right now combining my commission and hourly pay throughout the month.

that's exactly where I was going to send him.

Look kid... I've been there and done that and had zero direction but plenty of willingness. Go down to your local Air Force recruiter. Sign up and choose something useful for your MOS like aircraft engine mechanics or computer tech. Those are great jobs after you get out and they should be about as safe a military job as you can have.

Think of the difference in your life after having most of your expenses paid for for the next 4 years. A little travel, meet some new people (and maybe you can kill some of them if the opportunity should arise), learn a trade that you can live on when the weather is nasty and bring a little focus and discipline to your life. It's a big thing now so don't take it lightly but it'll pay you back many fold in the end.

Besides... there's only so much trouble this president could get you into... you won't be out of training before he's out of office.

Edit: I just read badfish's response... Fishy: consider yourself e-bitch slapped.

You could learn how to deal black jack and work as a dealer in a casino! My neice is 18 and just started dealing she is making on average 22 bucks an hour. Thats a lil more than what I make and I have been in that same business for 10 years now!

I cant really call what I do work. I just stand around all day BS with players in the casino...count a few beans to make chit add up at the end of the day and go home! I manage to bank about 45k a year. Not really spectacular but damn sure aint bad for an uneducated farm boy from south Arkansas! LOL. BTW I am what you guys would call a pit boss.... my official title is Floor Supervisor ( table games ) I REALLY dont do a damn thing at work! LOL

Customer service rep pays pretty well depending on who hires you...

Most CS reps make ok money. Not superb money, but ok money.

Uh..military is so far out of the question its ridiculous.

Its more a less against my entire families wishes, including my cousins, whos opinion really matters to me.. Hes currently in there, has been in for...13 years now, only reason why he doesn't leave is because hes made it his career..

Hes been all around the world, first with just army, then Officer Candidate School, Jump School, Survival Training, some other schools/training.. became a Ranger, has stayed that way..

Another big reason as to why I won't/can't join is I've got some plastic **** in my knee from when I shattered it.. don't know if they'd keep me from going or not, but long runs ect destroy it.

Don't worry, in the Air Force the words "run" and "physical-training" are non-existant.
