Went driving around this afternoon and was looking to have a little fun and well you could say I found it lol

A 40's Chevy Coupe pulled up next to me at a light with no traffic in site I'm not sure on what year it was but it shook the ground from the exhaust and the sound of a built motor.The guy driving was I'd say in his mid 50's and we each kind of nodded to each other.Usually guy's in car's like he was driving kind of baby them so I was'nt sure what was going to happen when the light turned green. Well that little bit of not knowing cost me HUGE when that beast took off,he pulled about 2 lengths on me before I new it.By the time I hit 3rd I was reeling him in but geeeez that thing was BAD!

We had to shut them down for traffic ahead and we both smiled and waved at each other.If it had been at the track I would have been ready for the start and he probally would'nt have got such a jump on me but you could tell that thing had some awesome power.If I could have stayed with him I would have had him pull over so I could find out what he had in there.He did have some Racing team logo in the back window though hmmmm I think he was looking to surprise someone and it was me! lol

 

If you didnt have a slowbra, you would of won!

Then again you are about twice his age and decrepid so you were probably just going the speed limit and thought you were racing.

I'll bet he was watching the yellow light from the intersection. Then he cut a good green light.. LOL I've done that many times. You can get a real good jump on just about any car, and he was probably scared to death of your Cobra, so he put the throttle down.

I did that to a C-5 vette once and it took him a few gears to catch me with my slow *** GT.. LOL watch the light and hammer it ..

 

That's the thing,I did'nt know if he was going to or not.He gave no indecation at all.I waited to see and it cost me.

At least you got beat by something worth a damn! I got smoked by a fuggin Taurus. I dont know if it was a SHO model or not.... I was just cruisin down the interstate about 75 and was easing past a silver Taurus.... I got like a fender in front of him and he punched it! He got a car length ahead of me and slowed down back beside me. All the while Im trying to be good cuz I got a girl in the car with me and we were on like our 2nd date..... Anyway after he slowed down and got back beside me he did it again... punched it! Im thinkin "what an idiot, he better be glad I got my gilr with me".....well.... he slowed down again got almost beside me and we got into a lil traffic, I had to merge in behind him and when I did my girl said..." if you want to race him you can" I thought THANK GOD! Ok so im in traffic behind him still..... I see my opening comming up still doing bout 75ish... I get my opening... drop it to 3rd gear.. floor it....... I get my front bumper about even with his driver door. He starts pulling away..... WTF??? I shift into 4th he still pulling away... im still thinking WTF? We had to back out of it cuz traffic again... I think to myself ok this **** is going down this time! we get through traffic I get my opening..downshift to 3rd again and didnt even get even with his rear bumper.! He starts pulling away! FAST too! I start cussing out loud WTF IS GOING ON?!! Hes in a fuggin family saddan! Im gettin blown off the road by a fuggin FAMILY saddan! I run my stang to 130mph I never even gained an inch on him... infact he was about half a mile ahead of me by that time! Thats about as bad as it has ever got for me. Like I said before, I dont know if that was a SHO model or not but the fugger was FAST!... caught me by suprize for sure!

 

wow sounds like you got owned...lol thats not much of a race from 75...either from a stop or 30 roll...then maybe you can gain

 

He probably sprayed on you or had some sort of forced induction.

 

Man talk about a sleeper! I know those SHO's are pretty fast. At least you were beat by a Ford product. lol..
