I don't know yet, i'm sure it won't be much at first since I'm not experienced. At any rate, I'll be the only hispanic sales person there handling all the spanish leads. Stacks things a little on my favor I think...

car sales can be rough, i know, i quit that business 2 years ago. 2k a month plus comm., that sounds too good to be true and prolly is. make sure any money they give you up front is not on a "draw". a draw is basically like a short term loan each week from the dealership. its like a regular paycheck but you pay that **** back at the end of the month and how much comm. you earn is put up against what they paid you each week on a draw for the month. If you made no sales for a week, you will have to pay back any money they gave you that week. if you sold a car everyday, then they will pay you your comm. straight to you without you paying anything back. in this business you are the master of your own destiny: be lazy=dont make squat or work hard=$$$$$
just work every deal like its your last one of the month on the 11th hour and you be fine. also, dont be afraid to ask for the sale, but dont get pushy, thats when people walk out the door. also take any tips from old salesman with a grain of salt, what works for them might not work for you. one more thing, the best thing i found when i sold cars was people love it when you know your product. learn everything about the cars you sell, not just the cool features, but under the hood as well. also know the other cars in your segment so you can overcome any objections by the customer. now get in there and chop some heads off...its gonna be a blood bath....lol

usually comm. on a car is percentage of the cost of the car. for example, when i sold chryslers the new 300 C had just come out. a base C was 32K with a fully loaded one topping out around 45K. On the 32K i could expect a $300-$350 comm. and a 45k would get me around $425-$480 sometimes $500+ comm. it all depends on the details of the deal, things like window etching, 100k warranty, life/disabilty insurance and so on. so there is not set price on how much you will make, and sometimes your will make way less because you have to meet sales goals for the month, so you as we say "***** out" a car for way cheap just to get in on the road. but dont make that a habit cause you only hurt yourself in the long run unless the dealership has a bonus for selling X number of cars each month.

i work for Acura and we are strictly commission. Are you sure that you 2k a month is all the time?!?! It could be a guarantee for a couple months till you get the hang of things. Or like was said before...it's probably a draw which i would hate. At any rate though....theres money in car sales....you just gotta stick it out and get good at it. congrats man. I know i'll never leave the car business.

Oh and just to let you know....the new 2007 MDX is the ****....and if you sell it full pop (we don't get discounts on them) that a $4000 gross profit on it....and at our dealership we get 25%. You can make a grand in less than 2 hours
