Default Taking my car to Ford

so im gonna set up an appointment w/ my local ford dealer for my car....im going to get the oil changed while im at it....but the main reason im taking it in is so i can get my synchros replaced....(2003 3650 transmission :wallbash...wat exactly should i say to the people...just like "hi i have a 2003 mustang gt that is experencing some weird shifting...i read that there was a TSB on this transmission due to faulty synchros and i would like them replaced" or something to that? this is the first time i have ever called in to a shop..usually i let my mom take care of this....any tips would be cool

Call for an appointment. They will ask whats wrong, say you want an oil change and there is a TSB for your 3650 transmition. Tell them you are experiencing hard shifting when you start your car in the morning into 2nd gear, and into 4th.

Just have the TSB handy so you can read off of it when they ask you whats wrong.

Youll be fine...ps, be prepared to be jacked for that oil change. My dealer charges 7 bucks for the damn filter. I can almost do the whole oil change for that...

idk about over rated, but it's good non the less... I've seen the proof, and freeing up 5 extra hp with a simple oil change is worth it to me...

Dont't tell them you want the tsb done they think your a internet surfer and found that there was a tsb and now you want it. TSB is not a recall the tsb just lets the tech know that it is common problem and this is what fixes it. Just tell them you are expriencing a hard shift into second when the car is cold.

You wont see a 5 hp difference from a warm dyno run with bad oil, to a cold dyno run with royal purple...

your auto might be having converter shudder. is it when it shifts into OD at a very low speed? or when the converter locks up?

Question Where can you find the list of TSB's for 04 GTs???

Nothing wrong, but it would be nice to know what the common problems are.

some dealers will just take your word and order the parts. That TSB doesnt pay the mechanic for the diag test drive. Whats most likely going to happen is you take it in to the dealer, it sits all day, they call you at 4pm tell you they wernt able to get to it that day, and they will bring it inside to look at it in the morning. The next day comes. Their test drive consists of taking it from the parking lot into the shop. The mech says we dont stock this kit, we will have to order it. Ring ring, Yeah this is Moe-Foe Ford calling, you can pick your Mustang up now. The parts we ordered wount be in untill next week some time.

Sometimes you have no choice. I hate taking my car into a dealership.
something aways goes wrong.

Your car will not constantly put the same horsepower down every time. And since its "just an oil change" im sure the variables werent consistant.
