5.0L N/A Modular w/ 534HP
Apparently the new FR500GT Mustang makes 534bhp with a modular 5.0L N/A V8. Pretty damn impressive if you ask me. It's in the most recent C & D, but I can't find any articles about it online, this is all I could find:

thats a lotta money for that car.....
maybe the 225k price tag gives you the pleasure of owning something most other people cannot afford?
the price is def rediculous for a 12 second 172mph car....
then again, are these street legal? i thought they were going to be made strictly for track use.
I'd love to have one, but for that price, i'd probably get a 07 shelby and a 1969 show quality boss 429 with matching numbers. ... and maybe a tacoma with what i had left over....

i know that there were only a few (like 3 or 4) New Edge SN-95 Fr500's made and they went for 250k also..i think....but the price is all of the testing and tweaking that they put into the cars engine and suspension to make it perform like it does...it is a full out race car, so i wouldnt expect it to go for any less saying that it hangs w/ bmw m3 race spec (and equivilant) cars that go for 300k+
EDIT: they also have a lot of time into the chassis so that when u hit the wall at 150+mph, the car wont break like a normal car...the car itself would be toast but it atleast give the driver a bit more chance of living

with cars like the GT500 and Z06, those are fully production cars, if they only made 10 Z06's you know they would run for $200,000+, to recoup the R&D + engineering expences with a very limited quanity of product.
But seeing as how the FORD GT and Z06 are stamped out in factorys, they can sell more of them at a lower price to recoup the design expences.
But, if they only sell 10 of them, i would never consider 225,000 aa ripoff, afterall, tons of people have Z06's..... with the FR500 odds are you will have to travel 5 states to find the closest person who has fr500
That kind of status symbol is worth 225,000.

I think you guys are missing the point a little bit. I wasn't really taking about the car, personally I'm not crazy about it either. I posted it because I've heard people say countless times on here that you can't break 400rwhp with a N/A modular V8, but this one has 454rwhp.

it's been said; and quite accurately so, that it's unlikely to ever see 400rwhp NA on a 2V modular. The compression would have to be in orbit and the redline would have to be very very high. 2v just doesn't flow enough for all that.
A 3v or 4V will flow enough to make it possible as long as the redline is very high and the intake plenum is gargantuan. I've seen the FR500 engines and they're a 4v cammer motor with a badass intake that uses 2 plenums that are pretty large and very short runners. It's built to be run at 6500rpm all day long. Probably not very streetable.
Besides all that, the car comes with a million point roll cage, and all the stuff you'd need to race in AI series right out of the box. It's a purpose built race car... so pricing seems kind of unimportant.
