As a father of three....girls, I will give ya some advice:
1 - This is a HUGE comittment!!! Bigger then you can imagine.
2 - My wife and I were married about 4 years before we got pregnant. My wife said that she wanted a kid and I agreed. There was no conversation. The point is, many people talk themselves to death about kids, then never have them.
3 - It is not what you do before you have a kid that matters, but what you do after you have the kid that counts the most. Did you screw up by getting her knocked-up? Sure. BUT, you can still grab the situation by the horns and make it work.
4 - You are almost 30 years old. It is time to be a man anyway-LOL
5 - Don't pretend that having kids is not gonna change your life. This is the biggest mistake int he book.
6 - Lastly, I used to drive my stang with TWO car seats in it. So what! Anyone single guy can own a stang, but trying having a wife, babies, and a mortgage and having a stang. ****, if I had done the single thing my whole life you would not see me on this site. I would be driving a Lambo at a minumum....but I would not trade my life that I have now for a car. Keep the car if you can, but don't let your baby go hungry or do w/o because of a machine.
7 - Diapers suck!
8 - Formula sucks!
9 - Doctor bills suck!
10 - Crying all night, sucks!
11 - My girls kissed me before then went to bed tonight - PRICELESS.

My responces,
1) Yeah, im imagining pretty big, im sure im only scratching the surface.
2) thats very true...
3) Yep. Diddnt wrap it. The funny thing i have no freakin clue how many times ive had sex with how many women and diddnt use a rubber, untill now never got a girl pregnant. She and her ex were together for a few years and at once point they tried to get pregnant, never happened. he was checked out at a fertility specialist and was fine, they figured the problem was with her. Then i waltz in, and a month later she is knocked up. Lol. The GOOD thing is of all the women i have dated in the past 5 years this is the first one i ever though of having a serious long term relationship with. So, better HER than any of my prev relationships. I seriously think i could spend the rest of my life with her and be quite happy with it. My priorities are all changing. im good with it though
4) Yep. 30 in january. Ive somewhat settled down a bit already over the past few years. I think im ready for something like this. I wouldnt mind a year or so to get to knoew her better tho. lol
5) I absolutly recognise that fact. I have friends who have kids and thier lifes definatly changed, allthough they all say it is for the better and i believe them. No more snorting cocaine off a hookers **** for ol jack! LOL!
6) Thats a damn good point, if i can hold onto the stang thats quite a feat. If i cant, ill sell it and get a cheaper foxbody with lower payments. lol.
7) Im dreading that.
8) what, does it taste bad or something?
9) Thank god i got a bitching medical insurance plan!!!!!!!!!
10) unfortunatly she is a heavy sleeper and i am a light sleeper. plus since she works a day shift i know it will be my job to deal with the crying kid.
11) I bet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK here's my opinion. I was in your shoes when I was 32 years old. But.. I was living with my girlfriend (now my wife) for almost a year and a half, and I knew I loved her. She told me she was preggo and it was definatley a shock.
We got married 2 months later, and it was the best decision my sorry *** ever made. I've been married for almost 15 years to my soulmate in life. (wasn't sure until we became a family unit). When you have a child you will develope the paternal instinct, and it will come naturally. When you hold your baby for the 1st time you'll know it.
There will be trying times ahead though. Babies cry, but you have to figure out why. But I always remember the good times of having a rugrat to nurture.
I wouldn't change a thing in my life from the day my son was born. At your young adult age you can handle the responsibility. It will be a fun ride if you let nature take its course. Just be patient at first. And be a good DAD, There aint many left..
Good luck on your new role in life..

If that were only true. Problem is, many animals make better parents then some humans. But, to your point, I think you are essentially right.

My ex use to be on birth control... till one day she forgot to take the pill -_-
UH-OH.... yup, she told me about it and atfirst i told her to get an abortion, then i kindof wanted the kid, it changed my life forever. Was ready to take that step. She then later on had an abortion because she knew it was going to damage her school and stuff. Oh well.
