Default New clutch in, life is good

Well took 2 hours 50 mins to pull the old stuff out thursday. Then friday got the flywheel redone and went back at 630pm to put it all back in. Sadly i haddent taken the old pilot bearing out and with the gay tool advanced auto parts gave me just f'ed the old one up. I had to use a dremel with a metal cutting tip and cut a slot in the old bearing so i could make it collapse and then be pulled out. That alone took over an hour and half. THen we got all the new stuff up flywheel up clutch (spec stage 2) and tranny etc... 2nd days total was over 4 hours. So in total about 7 hours or so to do the job.

The good part is that i have only minor chatter (all specs chatter during breakin so i am told) and it really grabs hard with the easy driving i have been doing on it so far. And i dont see where people say it makes the pedal harder mine feels almost the same? or maybe just its my size that makes it easy for me i dont know.

I just cant wait till the 450miles are over so i can slam some gears.

Sorry to hear your tool didnt help ya out more. Ours wouldnt have worked if it hadnt pulled the inside of the bearing out. Yes, its supposed to chatter during the break in. Enjoy

lol... 2 days!

took me 5 to swap my clutch... that was a damn headache...

I had to pull the h-pipe to drop the cross member, then I broke the ****in studs... so i had to pull the headers, and buy the parts.

lol... switched the clutch in the pickup in 3 hours...

Not bad Dustin, I did mine in my old '02 in the driveway (gravel) in 3 hours. Then one in the '04 same place in 2 hours. After you do it once, it gets easier since you know what all you gotta do. No air tool's either

I didnt think it was either untill i looked at my phone to see what time it was. I got plenty of practice on the '02 since i seemed to F*** up the trans alot on that one with a 100shot hittin lol. I had that tranny out i think 4 or 5 times fixing stuff.....clutch, pilot bearing twice, then clutch again. On my '04 i've had it out once so far and after the '02 i was like cake. I did most of it all myself, then my dad helped me slide the tranny out and then he helped when i put the tranny back up. I found it makes it 10x easier if you just take the bracket on the wiring harness on the backside of the engine (above the bellhousing) out. That way next time you dont have to fight with it and it doesnt get in the way. But yea after you've done it a few times it becomes really easy.
