Default SCT Xcal2: good first mod?

Ok so i have been saving up and I think i want to buy an sct xcal2 for my 06 V6, is this a good first mod? I am also going to swap my muffler and get an intake. I know the intake won't do much since i already have a K&N drop in, but its only 75 bucks so what the hell. I don't want to mod too heavy untill the warranty is up at 36 thousand miles, which is still 28 thousand miles away, because i've already had a couple minor problems and the relibility of the new models is still unproven. I'm hoping if i do all three i can get close to what justin@VMP's (I'm buying it from him) 05 was at with the same mods, which is i think (don't wanna go find the article) around 210RWHP 247RWTQ.

the six has a lower redline and i've heard 4.10 and FI don't always play nice.(even though there ARE people with superchargers and 4.10's aroundthe boards)

Good idea, i'll have to think about the 3.90's. Also the intake and exhaust will be done at the same time, i wasn't clear enough about that. And as far as gears you can change that yourself later right?

gears are for someone who knows drivetrain. leave it to a mechanic to do gears.

ok once again i wasn't clear, i meant you can change the TUNE yourself later to adjust for the different gears, right? I wouldn't wanna mess with my own drivetrain.
