Default People with ipods

I'm looking for an mp3 player, and plan on getting an ipod, but there's a few thing I want to make certain before I get one. First off, does it play any mp3, like songs that i've download that weren't from i-tunes? Also everything is PC compatable right?

You can take songs from say Limewire, drag them into iTunes and then upload them onto the ipod. Every time you plug it into the computer itll update. So if something happens and you lose all the songs on your computer, dont plug the ipod in or youll lose all the songs on your ipod too

i got a nano 1g and just use it for the gym or when i run with my dog. For the 140bucks i paid for it i think its a cool thing to have. I upload all kinds of **** onto it from cd's to music off the net etc.. it doesnt matter if the music came from Itunes or not.

is it the remastered version? im returning my 1 gig until the base here gets the new ones. my 1 gig now sales for 110 when i paid 150 4 weeks ago. fuggers.

when you first install itunes it will look for music on your harddrive and will load them to your itunes folder. it even converts wma files to mp3 files. if i were you i would turn off the automatic update. do it all manually never know when your at someones house and what to get some music from their library.

lol, no no no, its a nano, I have one for myself aswell, in the 4gig variety. This is the 'old' ipod nano, when I said two tone I meant that the back is stainless steel, and the front is black, whereas the 'newer' ipod nanos re one color all the way around.
