Default married man

I think I have finally convinced my better half that it's ok to add stuff to a new car. At first she just couldn't understand why I would want to change anything about a new car. It looks good enough she said. Lol, well after I put on the mach 1 chin spoiler she was impressed at the difference. Then after I got my stripes ordered she said why do you want to do that? THEN I got up early on my only day off (Sunday) and put them on. She was really impressed because she thought I couldn't do it. I wasn't sure I could do it. But it turned out very nice and added to the overall look of the car. Now I have the go ahead to get whatever I want to enhance my stangs looks.:icon_comp plus I got a birthday coming up in May.:icon_joke Yeeehaw new cobra hood and spoiler, here I come.

Anyhow I think as long as ya don't get too gaudy or ricey the sky is the limit for Mustangs. I want to make my car look like I think it should look.

Any other married guys or gals have that dispute with your mate?

Also, I want to do the mods most of you guys do to the performance (and I will eventually). But right now I'm gonna make her look sweet. Plus geeez my stock GT has plenty o performance for just daily driving. I stomp it and she goes no doubt!! Life aint always a drag race. But I would love to make her fast as she can go.

this is a funny thread. i bought my mustang 2 years ago after my first son was born and my wife said the mustang was a bad idea that i should get a 4 door car and she didnt want me modding the car what so ever. lol (we also have an 05 tahoe and a 95 sunfire winter beater) now that my second son was born last wednesday she doesnt bother me to much about it, she has other things to think about. so what she cant see wont hurt her like gears in 2 weeks and new posi.

Interesting thread....

My wife knew when we were married that she would not be able to interfere with my need for speed. I told her if it died out of me one day, then so be it. But until then.... well.... you can see my car, lol.

However, I must give her due kudos. She only complains or tells me not to buy something when we are tight on money (which is usually), lol). So, since we have been married, she has endured a 13.30's supercharged '86 FC3S RX7 (supercharged and fabricated totally by yours truely), a 12.80's '87 Turbo II FC3S RX7, a 13.50's '89 Turbo II Carroll Shelby Daytona, and now a 12.90's 2000 Mustang GT. Never once has she complained about my cars or my need to work on them and spend money on them. BUT, I try to balance it out by purchasing nice things for her also to show her that I don't think about car more than her and all that stuff that is important.

Gotta please those wives. Much more important than the cars.

Well my wife gave me an ultimatum; she said “it’s either me or the Mustang”... I am sure going to miss my wife…

Just kidding

I’m one of the lucky ones I married a motor head / speed demon. After the kids get a little older I’m thinking of getting her a Dodge Magnum with the Hemi.

My wife is very cool about the mods. She only tells me that there is certain things I can't do: no stripes and no stlying bar. So far, I have listened, though I really want the stripes.

At times there are things that I have done that she is not sure of, until someone else says that they like it, then it is ok.

LOL, that's what im banking on when I do performance mods. She don't know squat about modding. I'll tell her my whobble plate wore out and buy a new throttle body and plenum. Or I got the air filter changed ( the cold air system was already there, honey) Things like that. Oh yes and those dreaded muffler bearings are worn out. Flowmaster, or ( insert a good muffler choice here) doesn't use bearings so I saved money..:toothy5:

My wife doesnt mind what I buy unless it makes the car look corny then she would have a problem with it. I also do some work on her car to keep things even dont want her geting jealous of the stang.
