k...if ur gonna get heads..then get something better than the PI heads, cams, and intake

go with something from modularpowerhouse for cams cause they custom grind their cams...get aftermarket heads too...i hear that patriot heads have improved their crappy design, and then get teh bullitt intake (same intake on the bullitt mustang)

this isnt gonna get u much but it sould put u a hair above 300rwhp

as for gears, go with 4.10's i rode in a stang w/ them and they are not bad...cruising at 70mph will put ur rpms at about 2500...and the modular engine likes the high rpms

(i cruise at 60 in 4th gear and i still get about 20 mpg..i do alot of street driving)

Stage 3 without HOM on - 300hp
Stage 3 w/HOM on - 375

u better be a flat 12 second car if u want to atleast hang

anywho....i dont want to stir up anything....i like the mustang soo hmmm....imma see if ill go to the junkyard and some heads and an intake and get the heads resurficed and polish up the intake and i should be good.....right??? :S

I think someone needs to find that video of the Chicagoland Mustang Club owning the **** out of the Chicagoland SRT-4 Club at the dragstrip

Even if you are slower than your SRT-4 friends, you can always use the "Well atleast I don't drive a Neon..." saying.

Pcola I'm sure if you had a choice between your v6 mustang and a SRT-4 you would chose the srt-4..I know I would..but not my GT =)

well for one thing... rwd is the best! try taking some corners and really getting into it... I hate FWD 'sporty cars' because of the understeer... lets face it there arent any FWD sports cars... there was one lotus a long way back but still!

In all honesty, I'd rather have a V6 Mustang that an a fast Neon.

I seriouslly doubt that for some reason..but if your that much of a hater on the srt-4's then alright..but I think they made them look really neat. They are pretty light too.

I'm not a neon hater, I'm just not fond of them.

I would take a Mustang over any other car, my dreams aren't spectacular.

don't go to the junkyard and don't have them resurfaced.. that's almost never required and it'll raise your compression even more, cause slack in the timing chains and all kinds of little naggy problems.

If you've got 2 grand to spend, then get a set of heads from VT, Patriot or Livernois, stage 2 is fine. Get a set of hotter cams with it (if smog isn't an issue) and you'll smoke SRT's. Just a PI head swap can put you into the high 12's if you can drive it, and if you add some RLCA's from Maximum Motorsports and some subframe connectors you'll be in a better position for a good launch and some turbo Chrysler 4-banger for breakfast.

SRT's are front wheel drive, so they're quick but not fast from a dig (we gotta be real). AWD little rice cars can be actually fast thanks to mad traction (WRX, Evo, etc...) but FWD... nope. Can't plant the power in streetable form. In race form all things change. From a roll... all things are up for grabs... depends on the mods to the SRT.

Lastly, Neon's are ugly as sin and should never have been let out with that giant Barbie wing on them.

Well anywayz...i hang out with a lot of srt-4 owners and well, lets just say i ran the slowest one...and he pulled 4+ cars on me from a 30mph roll

I got no idea what the car has, the Speedometer reads 10mph above what it should (compared with a friend) and i dont think 6,000 rpms is redline anymore since it doesnt pull hardly anything past 5,500 <--- dont know if thats normal for V8s

Anywho...any advice on what to get and what to start off with...I have already installed Long Tube Headers, Mac Catless H-Pipe and a flowmaster 40 series cat back exhaust....I have a CAI, Intake Spacer and Short Throw coming in the mail. What else can be good to add. I am wanting to get rid of that ugly 4X4 stance it has. Any suggestions???

Congratulations. You bought the red-headed stepchild of all V8 Mustangs.

Going from an SRT4 to a NPI 2V is quite a downgrade, as far as performance goes. SRT4s are even faster than the 99-04 2V GTs and are a better bang for the buck, though most GT owners would hate to admit that.

yes, i know i downgraded a lot... ...i love mustangs, but only the fast ones

guess ill just get some 4.10 gears and a shot of nos and call it a day then...

FYI...an srt with $500 bucks worth of bolt ons can pull a mid 12 second car from a roll...its been proven over and over again...and we got videos to back it up...digs are different since the srt cant get the power to the ground oh well...

what about supercharging the stang like it is right now? worth it?

worth it? yes, but more so with the perfromance heads... with 4.10's and nitrous you should be more than happy with your racing performance... have you been enjoying real burnouts and donuts yet? hell now you can own time attack and even drifting if you so choose lol

I am pretty sure the 16" are 16x8, so I think you could go all the way up to 275s
