here is his obituary..this is the brad we knew...

Bradley J. Roach 20, of Downingtown, passed away on Sunday September 24, 2006 at the Reading Hospital. Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of Martin J. Roach and Irene Karpinsky Roach.

Brad graduated from Downingtown High School West Class of 2005. He was an honor student and received the Art Dept. Award of Excellence for Ceramic and Sculpture. He was invloved with the schools track and cross country teams and enjoyed writing. Upon graduation Brad accepted an academic scholarship to attend Ursinus College where he was majoring in writing and Japanese culture. Brad was a member of the Downingtown United Methodist Church and was a Master Mason, Williamson Lodge F&AM # 309 Downingtown.

Brad enjoyed ultimate frisbee, snowboarding, sailing, video games, playing guitar, listening to music, reading and chilling with his friends.

He was formerly involved with Habitat for Humanity and played baseball for WBYA. Brad was chosen out of thousands to be an alternate for the 2004 Japan-America Friendship Scholarship program.

Brad's parents are very proud of the qualities of his character and his accomplishments in his short lived life. He was a hero to his younger brother, Greg; Brad was a constant role model who always looked out for him and made sure he was always okay.

In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother, Greg Roach at home, maternal grandfather, William J. Karpinski Sr. of Royersford and Maternal grandmother, Irene Sidline of Doylestown.

Um, did you miss the whole ARMED robbery thing? He beat the crap out of the clerk and injured 8 people with the wreck, all because he was running from the cops.

There is no such thing as a "mistake" when it is taken to this magnitude. I get so tired of hearing that BS that kids must learn from their mistakes. They know what they are doing when do whatever it is they are doing. If they have to do stuff like this just to learn the lesson because they don't realize it is wrong, then we need to line them all up in front of firing squad and send them all to Hell where they belong. We don't need them here on Earth jeopardizing the lives of those that don't do those stupid things. The world would be a much cleaner, safer and happier place without them in it.

NO, don't take it out of context. I have never "made a mistake" and robbed a store, beat the crap out of the clerk, ran from the police and caused a 5 car accident that injured 8. I said, that there were no mistakes when it is taken to that magnitude. A mistake is staying up too late and being tired the next day so that you can't perform your job or school work as you should. A mistake is tightening that bolt just that little bit extra to where you break it off or strip it out. It is not a mistake to commit armed robbery, or attempt to commit armed robbery, if you want to split hairs.

Me being a criminal justice major I don't agree that someone that robbed a store at gun point is a mistake at all! Wether or not he had a big fight/misunderstanding with someone doesn't give him the right to go to a store and rob somone at gun point beat the crap outta them and then run away with cops following you and cause other wrecks! There is simply no excuse for that! He was conciously aware of what he was doing and the intent was there so I won't see it as a mistake! Did he deserve to die? I can't say that he deserve to die. Did he deserve to be locked up in prison for a while? Most certainly! I wonder what those who say it was a mistake would say if it was their family member who was robbed at gun point would say? Would you still call it a mistake?

Ding, Ding, Ding....I mean, I realize that by saying death as a punishment goes against societal norms, but it goes along with my belief that too people are allowed to rot in jail at the expense of the taxpayers, and live better lives than some of those not in jail. It is completely unfair, but I realize that it is the way it is. I'm just stating my belief. Who is to say that he would not have done it again and actually KILLED someone next time? This way, we don't have that risk, so society is better off. I'm a business major, and in business, risk is a bad thing. Risk is also a bad thing in life in general. Having this guy on streets obviously puts us at risk, so that is why I don't feel bad because of what happened.

But you said it right, there is no why that anyone can justify this as being a mistake and anyone who tries is, well, an idiot :coughbadfishcough:
