Default So... i think i've lost it.

Currently have about 45000 on it. Warranty went out mid-summer, since then I've had to shell out the following:

$350 to repair busted ABS sensor
$200 for frame inspection (**** carfax)

and then just yesterday $481 for a second brake job in 6 months because a rear axle seal blew, and soaked the rear pads in oil, also needed new brake fluid and front rotors.

my air conditioner doesn't work and will cost $200 at least to fix.

and there are plenty of good old fashioned ford squeaks and rattles comming out of it now.

Between all this and the lingering sting from the whole "frame damage" incident I've basically lost my love for this car.

I'm just hoping nothing else decides to **** itself between now and when I graduate.

Chevys are the same way even worse atleast you havent put 4 fuel pumps in it already...I.E old 93 Blazer went through 6...Guy I plow for Tahoe (99) went through 5......A buddys 02 Camaro SS went through 2 already..And chevys rattle like no bodys business .Granted all cars have their problems..SOme is owner based......Sorry to hear about your problems. Best of luck....They are all MONEY PITS..That is why most car manufacturers offer a 3 yr 36 cause after that is when the stuff really starts happening...

You can do the brakes your self for easily less than $150 and maybe 15 minutes in your back yard!!!

Hell brakes are almost easier than changing the oil!!!!

I did a brake job myself in September.

What killed me on it wasn't the brake job. The brakes were less than 200 of that and seeing as I can't turn rotors myself thats worth it. It was cracking open the rear diff and pulling the axles to replace the axle seals. I didn't go to the dealer either, it probably would be twice that as the dealer quoted me $400 for a brake job.

I've owned a chevy before as well, and vowed never again. I guess I just have to go foreign now. My 94 Accord had 120k on it when I sold it and cost next to nothing to maintain for 6 years.

The new V6 6spd Accord sedan is faster than my slowmatic GT. FWD is the only thing I don't like about it.

My S10 had the CPI V6, that was an $800 injector replacement, and when the dexcrap killed the transmission and radiator that cost me $2400.

understandable, I guess I did forget to mention that this was in my grandfathers back yard, and him and his brother pretty much had a full blown shop back there, (i.e. car lift, air tools, tire mounting machine) Damn, I miss him!

C&D claims 14.5 in the quarter.

Thats the best my Stang has ever done, and that was with weld-in flows, headlight pulled, and silencer removed. Haven't been able to replicate it since.

No mods I have done have improved the times I can get out of this car. Bolt ons are a waste.

14.5 is with a professional driver which you are not (im assuming). your car will run circles around that car with a professional driver. post your timeslip if you have it. hows your launch?

also, look for a better tuner..

I'm at school so no slips here.

Another tuner around here means changing software. That means more money that I don't have.

14.5 is the BEST my car did. In its current form I haven't gotten better than 14.7. My track blows, its at 2700ft and the DA often works out to around 4000, but it sure as hell seems like all the other Mustangs do alot better.

Maybe I'm getting old but at this point I really just want something cheaper to maintain, with fewer squeaks and rattles, that is still enjoyable to drive on my commute. I don't go racing every day, so I don't care about having the fastest car.

I no longer enjoy owning this car.

i know exactly what you're saying, i got the same way with my old car. it was a show car with lots of hard earned cash in it. but after a while i just got tired of it. there are cures for this but when you're at that point you just dont even want to try them.

thats the reason i bought my stang, and im much happier with it. i dont want to make it a show car because of what happened with my last one.
