in contrary to what the article said (suspected robbery) here is the true brad that we (my friends and i) knew..i read this 10 times and i still get a lil teary...i dont cry for much:
Most of you reading this probably didn't know Brad Roach. If you play ultimate with me and our group, then you most likely know him, or have at least met him. To my other friends who happen to be reading this, know this: Brad was a fun, energetic young man whose constant smile and strange antics (the likes of which make even me appear at least remotely sane) would easily bring a smile, and even mirthful laughter much of the time, to anyone around.
I first met Brad back when I first started playing ultimate frisbee with the group that Nate, Kevin, Chris (Kevin's brother), etc. had gotten together. Brad was one of our regulars back then, and was a very good player - particularly on the defensive, as he was willing (to the frustration of his opposition) to do anything to make sure you didn't get the disc. He had heart and spirit, an effort the likes of which would last on even past when he stopped playing regularly with us, when he would only come to the occasional pick-up game. From being constantly rusty he wasn't nearly as good as he used to be, but he still had that same heart, that same spirit that drove him forward, and that drove his team mates on with extra vigor and determination.
Brad last played on Tuesday night, a game that I will now never forget. My last memory of him is of us colliding that night. I had sprinted and jumped across his path to catch the disc, and his jump for the disc knocked me out of the air; we landed in a heap on the ground (and, admittedly, my leg injury was worsened in the process.)
That is my last memory of our friend Brad Roach. His life was taken from him last night in a car accident. The world now seems to be a much darker place. It is unbelievable that a young man, only twenty years old, with such vitality, could be killed in such a twist of fate. I don't know Brad as well as others, such as my brother, did, but I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart that he was one of the coolest people that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and knowing. I feel for his family, I feel for my brother, and I feel for all of his other friends who have lost someone so incredible, so bright and fun. It is times like these that I wish I had a firmer belief in God and in Heaven, so that I could truly believe, without a doubt, that he has gone on to a better place. But know this: whatever your religion, whatever your beliefs, if there is some paradise awaiting us in the afterlife, then Brad Roach is there, and that paradise has been made a much better place in his presence. If there are angels, then I rejoice for them, that they may now meet such an incredible young man, such an incredible person... and such an incredible friend.
Let us remember the great times that we have had with our dear friend Brad, and let us add yet another memory: let us gather next weekend for a great game of frisbee, a memorial to Brad and the life that he lived.

dude he tried robbing a store, and fled from the cops. I cant say i feel bad for your lost man. It was just an accident waiting to happen, and not only that but he almost killed like 20 other people plus some children, for what? to try to rob a store for a few bucks?. Im not going to say he deserved anything, but I cant say I feel bad for him dying, he knew the risks of robbing a store and the risks of fleeing from the cops

PLUS he tried robbing a GUN SHOP, im glad he died dude. What if he would of got a hold of several guns to sell and put guns in the hands of the wrong people to do some sort of mass murder/robbery?, and to kill a bunch of helpless people?. If he would of been sucessful at that all he would of done was just gone to a bigger robbery, probably a bank or something and kill inocent people. Atleast he died before he killed several others who didn't deserve it. Thats just the consequences dude, he injured a ****load of innocent peopel who didn't deserve it, its called karma. And karma got back to him as strong as it could of.

I don't believe in second chances when the mistake is the magnitude of that. It's like people getting second chances after committing murder. You kill someone, you deserve to die, bottomline. The punishment should be equal to the crime. He endangered the lives of others, completely reprehensible and he got what he deserved.

Come on people! PureStang started this thread because he needs some support regardless of what his friend did doesnt mean you have to come in there and bash. I have no clue why anyone would come in here and start saying this **** in here Spin and BossGT how about you just support one of our fellow forum members instead of telling him that his friend deserved this and stuff. Well you know what he was still PureStangs friend and looseing him is a big loss and painful for him so just set your damn opinions aside about why his friend died and how he deserved it. this isnt the point of the matter. so just get off the case at had a show some support for Pure.
Im pretty sure you guys would expect some support if someone you died regardless of why they died or what the did. Damn... grow up

I don't have compassion for people who do stupid stuff and then expect pity when things go wrong. We have that ability to make choices and decide what is right and wrong. He obvious made the wrong choice and paid the consequences. Let's ALL accept it and move on. Life continues on no matter what.
So red281gt, why don't you GROW UP and face the reality that people make stupid choices and sometimes they actually have to pay the consequences for their decisions. That's just the way life goes.

Seems like the same type of thing, but since you said it..it's not wrong.
The kid was drifting on a public street, illegaly (duh), and crashed, and someone said it would have served him right to get bruised up.
This guy DIES, "TRYING" to rob a gun shop, and you're glad he died, and that's all nice and peachy?
FFS, have some ****ing respect.
But anyways, sorry for your loss Purestang, and sorry that your thread of mourn was turned into a rant by some people with no respect. I have some friends that can be compared to yours, they do stupid things sometimes, but they're good people.

Jeebus! Can't we all just get along? Why does everyone have to resort to bashing? Why don't we all just take a step back for a minute, and BREATHE DAMNIT!
I can totally agree with Spin, and Boss; whether I would have necessarily worded everything the same way.... Well, I don't know..
Pure, Im really sorry for your, and your friends loss, but... Your friend knew what he was doing, and IMHO got what he deserved.
I've had friends that act one way one minute and the next thing you know they just snap.. Apparently he was the same way.
God bless you man, and I hope you get through this hard time.. It's tough losing close friends..

I believe Toby and Willie said it best,
"Take all the rope in texas
Find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys
Hang them high in the street for all the people to see...
...We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds
Weve got too much corruption, too much crime in the streets
Its time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground
Send em all to their maker and hell settle em down"
God, if only they were in charge...
