F-ed up situation at Chevy Dealer
So today I took my buddy to go pick up his c6 zo6 because he had a prob with the alternator or something, well the dealer had it for over a month because they kept giving him a big run around on the part arriving and what not, well when he left it at the dealer it had a full tank, when he picked it up today the car was on empty and the dealer put nearly 600 miles on it. He serious went all out insane yelling at the service managers and what not and the service manager kept denying that the car even left the dealership. Really pisses me off. I heard also of this one situation where some guy took his Ford GT in for service at ford and left it there over the weekend and the service manager kept bragging about how he took it to his house in the weekend and drove it all weekend. Really messed up stuff

This is nothing new at all. You all see the shorty on svtperformance where a guy bragged about ******* a 04 cobra out when it was in for service? turned out owner posts on there and sued the dealer for hot rodding his car. Crazy ****.

I ean these are things you just dont think of, you go to a dealer, you spend $90,000 for a car, they give you awesome service, seem liek great people. You know their going to put some miles, 50 TOPs. but **** yo 600 miles? and especially that it never left the dealership.

I would be REALLY upset if this happened to me. To be honest, I quit taking my car to the dealerships cause I was getting tired of all the little scams they try to pull.

I also take a piece of masking tape and write down the mileage with my signature and stick it in the window.
So far no problem. I think the masking tape really helps, most dealers and mechanics see that and they know yer watching the miles on yer car and are more reluctant to take it for a spin. You can expect 2-3 miles on it with test drives before and after repair....

And there shouldnt be even 10 miles on an alternator problem. They may take it for a quick 10 minute spin to make sure everything is being charged correctly.

after working at a dealership i know this, if you want something done...you go to the top. demand to see the owner about this, hell make it a big production in the showroom. they will do what ever it takes for you not to scare any customers away. you should contact GM asap, but as far a proving the milage and what was and wasnt done with the cops its all heir-se. unless you have concrete proof of it. o yeah, tell them point blank you are going to lawyer up. that one usually gets them on the ball to fixing the problem. and dont take no for an answer no matter how many times they say," we cant do anything.." BS, hell yes they can stuff like lifetime free oil changes, no charge for rental service when ever needed. there is all kinds of stuff you could get, fyi...money is not going to be one of them. you can try but they're not going to stroke you a check. just remeber, you still have to report them to GM, no matter what they give out...**** 'em they did it to you...you're only returning the favor.

Ummm this can all be done through one simple task. EVERYTIME before I bring my cobra in I have the service manager sign a mileage report a lawyer friend typed up for me. This states that if the car has over 50 miles on it that Ford takes all responsibilty and will reimburse me for the mileage lost. The service manager has always signed it for me. But I trust Villa ford.

well, I can say that joy riding does NOT happen at the BMW dealership I work at. It sure would be easy to do...and I am sure it has happened..but not in the three years I have been there...it DID happen some at the independant I worked for though.
Id be seeking legal action.
