Dish Network vs Direct tv???
Which is better and why? Just bought a new house and I'm trying to decide which to go with! I heard the cable where I'm moving sucks so that's not an option. So far I'm leaning toward direct tv cause I like the regional fox sports channels, however it seems dish network has more Hi Def channels. Any thoughts?

I have DirectV and wish I would have never switched from Comcast Cable. Even in a normal rain the picture will sometimes go away. That being said I prefer Directv to Dish because Directv has Speedvision and NFL network in the basic package where you have to go with the middle package on Dish.
Also the HDTV channels imo where not worth the $$, Directv had I believe 10 channels and they where for sure better quality but not that much. Its also on a 51" Hitachi HDTV

Yeah, I'm starting to get concerned about "reception" issues with Dish or Direct tv...we'll see, but I really like the sports packages Direct TV offers....hmmm.

I have had 2 problems with losing signal this year with Dish.
Both times where for less than 5 minutes. The cable where I am at goes out every other day it seems. I switched from cable to sat the day after the super bowl last year. The cable went out for about 4 hours during the broadcast.
So both can have problems.
I would suggest you see if the cable company in your area has the channels that you want to watch and base it on that.

Currently I have Comcast and for the most part it rocks, but I bought a brand new condo about 25 miles east of where I live now and Comcast doesn't provide services there. It's a company called Charter Communications....the cool thing is that each condo is considered a "tecCenter", which basically means it's wired for just about any technology you could possibly imagine right now....anway, the developers put Dish and direct tv dishes on each building....so it's kinda like every two condo's share the dishes....so that's why I have all 3 choices. I won't have to install a dish or anything, just basically have them turn the service on for which ever I choose and I'm good to go.
