they did the same thing with katrina, then they told everyone to just send money cuz the people didn't need supplies like food or water or generators or clothes. Then after the storm was over, they started begging for supplies when the only thing the victims had was a frikkin visa card with 1500 bucks on it.. wow a card. That's going to feed them when there's no food to be bought. Card aren't going to treat the sick when there are no health care facilities to do the work. People spent their money after they LEFT TOWN because we believed the cable news cartels. CNN and Fox and MSNBC are directly responsible for the way things ended up. We hear blame on the president but it's not even his bag... the Governors, Mayors and other local officials were the ones that dropped the ball. They ordered 5000 troops when they needed 50,000. They couldn't decide who was the shot caller and so police were pointing guns at people trying to escape the disaster area instead of trying to help them escape because they were ordered to do so by someone who had no business managing a disaster (LA state governor).

Cable news is the new great satan. They over hype any idiotic non-story to the point that people forget about the realities of life. They invent stories, fabricate evidence, provide intel to terrorists, give out incorrect instructions based on what they think to be the case rather than the actual case at hand, obfuscate the facts and deliver a sub-standard product to a intellectually lacking consumer.

I can't believe anyone even watches the Carnage News Network, *** News, or any of those crap heaps anymore. The only true and useful news I've seen since 9/11 has been local news at 10pm. At least they have locals to answer to.

grrrr.. sorry bout the tyrade but jeebus aych keyrhyst... how bad does it have to get

it was nothing... barely even a thunderstorm... i drove around when it was supposedly right on top of us... the wind would blow once or twice an hour for like 10 seconds then it would be calm again with no rain or wind for a long time.

Good luck to you all in Florida. I am in California now, but I lived in Florida for 23 years and went through Hurricane Andrew. The weak ones can be fun though - I had plenty of Hurricane Parties in college!
